[Chevron 7 locke]

"Just take it easy Kai ok?"

 

Kai sheepishly tried to hide his face as he walked out of the tank. He knew his body wasn't even close to being fully healed but it would be with rest and food.

 

He then turned to Shana.

 

"Baka! Don't scare me so much".

 

Kai sheepishly shrugged his head and then noticed the small tear running from her eye. Why was she crying? Was she crying for him or was she crying for some other reason?

 

"I...I..I don't know what to say. I tried to fight both Kreik and Alyssa at the same time by myself and lost badly. If Hizuni hadn't found me when she did I would have been dead."

 

Kai lowered his head. I'm...I'm sorry. I did not intend to cause you worry or harm. I wanted to make those people pay for hurting you."

 

Kai then bowed his head in apology and then went off the join the others. There seemed to be more people in the the little group then he remembered.

 

He quietly listend in and quickly began to understand what had gone on after he had been knocked out. From what he could gather, this "Project Z" could not be allowed to awaken.

 

He gave Akira a look as he remembered what the captain had said. That Akira had had problems of his own.

 

Shana helped me. Perhaps I can help Akira.

You people speak too easily about eliminating and destroying, don't forget these are people you're talking about, genetically designed by a madman, but still they are people. If we just go around ignoring the red tape, we're not any different than the enemy. We aprehend, only kill if absolutely necesary not the other way around. We're soldiers, not assassins

 

"Soldiers are trained to kill. Therefore, we should put that training to use." Ming said in a matter-of-fact tone. "But I do agree with you, we should just go after Hyman. Spreading us out could be disastrous."

 

Ming then saw two new people walk into the room, one boy and one girl, who both looked about sixteen or seventeen, if Ming had to make a guess. "Well, looks like we have two others coming to join us. I'm Xi Ming, and yes, I'm new here. Who are you two?"

Kai gave the new arrival a strange look before responding. He hadn't been expecting him to say that he was new before he could ask.

 

"I am Kai. I was one of the original group that came here with the two captains and the commander. Could you possibly tell me who these other new people are?"

[Cyborg Ninja]

Hank gave a slight jump when he heard a boy speak.

 

"Whoa! I did not know you guys had ninjas on your ship here."

 

He turned around to see a boy and a girl who must have been elsewhere. He looked at the boy and than to the girl. He was actually quite impressed this boy was fighting and from the looks of him had just recovered. He reminded Hank of a teenage version of himself but a little more serious than himself.

 

"Pick me, pick me! Okay that guy right there is Xi Ming. I don't know too much about him other than the fact that he has a really cool name. That dude over there is Wolf but I like to call him Tex. That quiet guy is Akira, but at least he appreciates my humor. I'm Hank Coleman, but please call me Hank. I basically got our group out of the labs...okay maybe we worked together."

 

Hank extended his arm out to Kai and gave a slight laugh.

 

"I must say I'm impressed that you got to be with all of these beautiful women. Not only will it be a honor to shake your hand but I should bow to you mighty King Kai. I certaintly hope you appreciate good humor Kai...afterall every good king needs a good jester."

[Ping]

"I am Kai. I was one of the original group that came here with the two captains and the commander. Could you possibly tell me who these other new people are?"

 

"Pleased to meet you, Kai." Ming noticed Kai had given him an odd look after Ming had introduced himself. Probably noticed the scar, Ming thought. It always seems to have an effect on people. Ming started to open his mouth to continue, but Hank interrupted him.

 

"Okay that guy right there is Xi Ming. I don't know too much about him other than the fact that he has a really cool name"

 

Ming couldn't help but give a smile, something he rarely did. He liked the fact that Hank liked his name.

This further dialogue by Hank caused a thought to occur to Ming. Is Kai and this girl a couple? he thought to himself. They certainly would make a good one. Ming actually couldn't help himself but ask Kai, though he was afraid of seeing a bad reaction. "Kai, are you and this girl here...uh...you know... together?"

Kai's face turned red momentarily before shaking Hank's hand. "I...I-uh...I don't think of the captains that way. To me, they are my superior officers and nothing else."

 

"Kai, are you and this girl here...uh...you know... together?"

 

This time Kai's face turned red and then stayed red.

 

"I...I...I don't know? I...have to head for the transport. If you will excuse me."

 

Kai quickly turned away from the group and headed for the transport, his face still red.

Looks like I touched a nerve there, Ming thought, feeling a bit guilty for embarrasing Kai. Ming then turned to Kai's female companion. "So, you've remained a bit quiet. Who are are you?"

[Cyborg Ninja]

"I...I-uh...I don't think of the captains that way. To me, they are my superior officers and nothing else."

 

Hank shook his head but still laughed. He was about to ask Kai something else before Ming asked the same question. Hank was more interested in Kai's response than he was the question. He watched the boy's face get red before he turned and walked away. Hank looked over at Ming and chuckled.

 

"I didn't know it was possible to get that red." He then looked over at the girl and quickly added,"He must really like you sweetheart."

 

Hank wanted to go follow Kai, but he knew he probably wanted to be away from everyone right now...well maybe not everyone.

 

"So about our two friends we need to go find...has anyone actually fought them before, because up until a few minutes ago I had no idea they existed."

[CommanderQ]

Akira kept himself from chuckling, Kai had always seemed slightly conflicted, much like Akira, but this proved it. This is what happens when you put teens in a fighting unit. But he understood where Kai was coming from, this was an awkward situation for sure.

 

...but still, the red-faced expression was funny.

Wolf kept his thoughts to himself. He didnt believe in the idea of apprehending Dr. Hyman - if he was transfered to a prison, there's a possibility of him escaping. Or, if the FTSS decide to go easy on him and drop charges; He is a valuable scientist, afterall.

 

Wolf believed they shouldnt give FTSS the chance; that they should kill Dr. Hyman before he has a chance to awaken Zeus. He was simply too dangerous to live. He decided to keep this thought to himself, and only people he will trust.

 

He saw Kai walk into the ship, red from embarrasment. Wolf decided to come join him - he wanted off this planet.

 

He saw Kai, wondering aimlessly around the ship. "I'm amazed the FTSS hires children at your age..." he sat down on a near-by seat and observed him. He crossed his hands together and held it near his mouth.

 

"I'm also amazed at your team's ability to use your devices; someone as young as yourself usually have trouble handling some of its side effects."

Kai's head whipped around at the sound of Wolf's voice. He hadn't noticed anyone else inside the ship.

 

"I'm old enough to serve in the FTSS. That's all that really matters."

 

"I'm also amazed at your team's ability to use your devices; someone as young as yourself usually have trouble handling some of its side effects."

 

Kai nodded. At first it had been very hard to use the device but it had gotten easier over time. Developing new techniques had helped as well.

 

"At first it was very difficult using the devices. But now it is much easier to handle both the device and the side affects that come with using them."

 

He looked down at the Dark Guardian and was slightly suprised to see that it was dark. No power seemed to be running through it.

 

That's not the first time that has occured. I'll take it apart and fix it later.

"Especially when it comes to a Dark Power devices, you mean?" Wolf referenced. "I was recruited 4 years ago, where I served three years of Cadetship with the FTSS. I didnt get my device until I turned 24."

 

Wolf groaned. "Sorry. I dont mean to bore you with history lessons." he stood up and began to pace aimlessly. "Our main task is to capture Dr. Hyman... but may I ask you something?"

"It's not a problem. I didn't think they gave out devices to people past the age of twenty."

So Doctor Hyman is the one who sent those two monsters after Shana...I'll take care of him eventually. Right after I get rid of his two goons first. Or maybe Captain Terranova would like a shot at him first.

 

Kai shrugged his shoulders.

 

"Of course you may. Please, ask away."

Wolf made sure nobody else was listening. "Our objective is to either capture or eliminate Dr Hyman. Only one part of that mission I like."

 

He crossed his arms. "Lets face it; the FTSS ain't a perfect government. They've made mistakes in the past where it led people to war. They basically abandoned me and my team during a rescue operation on Omaga. Hence, why I left the FTSS."

 

"Dr. Hynam is officially labelled the most dangerous man in the galaxy. He has access to a dangerous weapon that can obliterate innocent lives. Yet despite his criminal status, he is the most valuable scientist anyone can have. If we capture him, chances are the FTSS will drop charges and use him to there own advantage."

 

"What I'm basically asking is... Should we give them that chance? In my opinion, we should put a bullet through his head before they get a chance to apprehend him. He's just simply too dangerous to live - and there are alot of lives he has yet to answer for."

[Shana]

"So, you've remained a bit quiet. Who are are you?"

 

Shana turned to face Ming and bowed slightly.

 

"I am Shana Terranova", she presented herself with Illya's last name which made Illya smile. "I'm Captain Terranova's sister."

 

She then watched as Kai moved away, his face red all over. She giggled to herself when she saw this.

 

"He must really like you sweetheart."

 

Now Shana's face turned red and she looked away from them.

 

"I-Is that so?", Shana said mostly just for saying something and moved away from the group sitting in the far side of the transport. Away from everyone else. She sat there looking over at Kai, who seemed to be talking with Wolf, only she could not make out what they were saying.

 

"So about our two friends we need to go find...has anyone actually fought them before, because up until a few minutes ago I had no idea they existed."

 

Pandora looked at Hank and nodded.

 

"The young man Kai, he fought them on his own. If you want you may ask him about them and maybe what to watch out for", Pandora said.

 

Commander Carrington looked around and just motioned everyone to take their seats as they would be going back to the Altaira.

 

"Once we're back at the Altaira we will give a full alert and expand our sensors so we can deploy as soon as possible. Take the time you have to train or rest. It is up to you", Commander Carrington said as she went towards the cockpit and left the party.

Kai knew that his answer was cold and direct but he couldn't seen any other option in dealing with this man. He also knew that wolf was right, the FTSS wasn't perfect.

 

For the good of the galaxy and the continued welfare of everyone, this man needs to die.

 

Kai nodded at wolf before sitting down across from him.

"I am Shana Terranova, I'm Captain Terranova's sister."

 

"Pleased to met you, Shana."

 

"He must really like you sweetheart."

 

Ming couldn't help but give another rare grin as he saw Shana turn beet red. I suppose the romance going on here could give some entertainment, he thought amusingly. Ming then went into the transport, where both Kai and Wolf were talking to each other. He didn't hear too much of what they were saying, as he had come in on the tail end of the conversation, but he did hear what Shana had said to everyone.

 

"The young man Kai, he fought them on his own. If you want you may ask him about them and maybe what to watch out for"

 

"Alright, Kai," Ming started. "Tell us how powerful these guys are, how'd the fight go, and what should we be prepared for. Also, do we even stand a chance against these guys? You took them on single-handedly, and by the sound of it, you weren't successful."

Kai's hand went up to his head as he remembered the beating he took from the two people.

 

"They are very powerful, my strongest attack barely scratched the woman and the man bled a little but that was about it."

 

Kai scratched his head as the memories of the battle came rushing back. He winced as he remembered what had happend.

 

"I believe a group of people would be better suited to fighting them. The woman recieved an upgrade in power and could most likely beat any of us with a few attacks. The man however...I think we could take him, if we get him before he upgrades."

"Wow and you still walked off...that's so cool, minus the pain of course."

 

Hank started to actually think for once about how to tackle these two people.

"I believe a group of people would be better suited to fighting them. The woman recieved an upgrade in power and could most likely beat any of us with a few attacks. The man however...I think we could take him, if we get him before he upgrades."

 

He started pacing back and forth until an idea suddenly hit him.

 

"Wait...I think I got something. What if we don't need to take him, what if the chick does it for us. Alright it sounds crazy but it just might work. What if we can get Ms Upgrade mad as hell. Kai they must have made you mad to take them both on or your just that awesome, either way the madder you get the more you lose your concentration. If we can get her mad enough I can use my most powerful attack which lets me manipulate time for a short while. We get her to use one of her powerful attacks and I'll stop time. I place the other one in front of the beam and move us out of the way. Time's back to normal and our new friend get's hit by the attack where Kai or someone else can finish him off. I'm saying Kai seeing that he'll want revenge."

 

Hank allowed himself to breath and leaned against the wall.

 

"Like I said its a crazy idea."

[Ping]

Ming listened to Hank as he explained his plan. "Yes, Hank, that's a very crazy plan. I don't think getting them angry would work, though. That might just make it worse. If you can slow time, that's a very huge task, and if that plan doesn't work, we could be down a member, and that's something we can't really afford." Judging from what Kai had said, Ming figured that they'd have problems killing just one of them even as a group. "I propose we find the man ASAP, and hit him hard before he can upgrade. If we all attacked him at once, we might have a chance."

"I agree. But I do see a problem with this plan. The two of them always seem to travel together and seperating them might pose a problem...We need some sort of bait to draw her away from the man and then hit him before he upgrades."

 

Kai turned to Akira.

 

"What do you think of both plans?"

"I propose we find the man ASAP, and hit him hard before he can upgrade. If we all attacked him at once, we might have a chance."

Wolf at least appreciated Kai and Hank for holding the right thoughts of the situation. He was waiting on the ramp of the dropship, leaning against the railing and crossing his arms as he overlooked the team discussion their options.

 

"Why is everybody just standing around then?" he spoke very gruffly. He pointed his thumb in the direction of the dropship entrance. "Everybody get in. We've got a job to do."

[Ping]

Ming nodded. "If you're going to take on the woman by yourself, then get in and out of there. Fast. I can't really say how powerful she is, having never fought against her, but hearing what Kai has said, you might not survive if you fight recklessly."

 

"Everybody get it. We've got a job to do."

 

Ming looked towards Wolf. "Yeah, let's get going. The faster we get to them, the greater our chances are of beating them." Ming then walked up the ramp into the transport.

Reina was speechless. She was still confused as to what was going on.

 

"Excuse me. But... why am I here again?"

 

It was all too much. All Reina could think of was to go back out there and explore things. She didn't have much experience on military stuff, but these guys seemed like the rough types...
