ForeverNight
I think that your proc might be an issue. The Xeon only gets up to 1ghz of processing power at stock clock whereas most modern procs are above 2.0 ghz.
Q
How did you manage to mate a P3 with an 8600GTS? You've really got me curious. Could you please post your specs? Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2. Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post. Anywho, you'll need to use the Dantooine lag fix with any DX10 video card: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save.

ForeverNight
Have you ran a virus scan? And eliminated all your bloat-ware? Oh, and a core 2 duo is MUCH different than a pentium 3 xeon, just an fyi.
Forogorn
Have you thought of taking out the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic disk and wiping it with your shirt to clean it? Most of the time, games don't work because the disk is dirty. If you wiped the disk and put it back in and the game still don't work, wipe it again, but this time harder, but not too hard that you'll break your disk.
