CrisG
I am studying KoTOR carefully and i am noting that tho the male figures are pretty decent, the female faces and heads are singularly unatrractive, indeed ugly. Is there a female head replacement or set of replacements? I would like to replace them all if possible, but am willing to work with various sets if people have done them, as i think they have. I wanted to seek advice about this, is this a difficult thing to add mods for? I have loaded up an improved Bastilla but did not remember how plain the normal female faces are ..for both ordinary humans and Sith. Ice the female fighter in Taris in particular struck me as being far from beautiful tho in the dialog she boasts of her own looks. I see many PC heads but have not seen any mods yet that change the in game people you run into.... are there any such mods? the female figures are not that great either, but i really would like to replace heads and faces...or improve them if possible. Any advice very much appreciated.
Darth Avlectus
This goes in the modding section. I think what you can do, actually, is reassign models. Or if you're crafty enough you can remodel the heads yourself. And of course it would follow that where the head is used in multiple instances, the change will affect them all. It may require even only a mere re-skinning.
Mono_Giganto
Hi CrisG, Not sure what you have in mind, but the best place to start looking would be here.
CrisG
thanks guys, ys i thought after i started this the Holowan section would have been a better place. Maybe a mod can move it over if they see this. thanks for the linkey Mono. I had looked at that list, but was not sure if it was possible to get the PC type heads used there into the general use heads, i will have to take a look at the files to see where is what. but thanks again for that suggestion. I also thought about RedHawke's great mods, i remember he has a lot, maybe some of them will do this. ok, well i may take a crack at working on some skins ... just was curious and it seemed a possible way to enhance this remarkable game. dont mean to be negative about the modeling, i just thought it might be nice to improve some of them a bit. Laura Muffin
http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/ You can find tonssss of DLs here (search in Mods AND Skins sections). I found a lotta good things here for my game since I think female heads in kotor and kotor 2 were pretty ugly too >.>...Kotor 2 wasn't as bad....but y'know... Beauty is in the eye of the yaddayaddayadda... The spinning head isn't relevant..I just laughed when I saw it. EDIT: Woops! Mono beat me to it I didn't even notice his link! CrisG
So Laura, can you tell me how to change a NPC head in the game? i can see lots of PC player heads mods, but i havnet found any heads for the people you meet in the game, those were the ones i was hoping to change. I would not mind changing my party heads either, but i think that can be covered by some of the mods.... it is the general population heads i was trying to fix. thanks for the move Jae, and for the links ppls and i like the spinning head too it is funny. I'd strongly advise that you look into .2da editing, as nearly all of what you want to do can be accomplished by editing appearance.2da, and possibly heads.2da if I recall. It's a very simple process; if you've ever used Excel, you'll feel right at home.

redrob41
You might also want to check out this WIP by SpaceAlex. He is working on a mod that changes all of the NPC characters from low polygon models and replacing them with higher poly versions. He's also making a lot more unique heads, so that less people use the exact same facial appearance. Alas, there still isn't an expected release date for it (so please don't ask for one ). As for what you consider attractive in a woman, it might not live up to your hopes, or it might exceed them. Either way, please keep learning how to mod, so that we can see what your vision would be .
CrisG
Ok, i will work on it that is a great way to make a small contribution. I have studied the wide range of human faces over a career as an artist, and beauty for me is not just ravishing good looks, often it hides behind many veils.... i just felt like the characters in the game really are so well done they deserved more in the apperance arena. I will work on the learning curve. :)thanks a lot for the suggestions. Are there community tools for editing the 2da.s? i will defnitely look at SpaceAlex's WIP, that does sound just like what i felt was needed and I certainly wont bug him about a release date, it is such an amazing gift what everyone does to give to us all here.... thanks again. VarsityPuppet
Well, you can use KotorTools 2da editor. It's okay, but I prefer using Excel and the 2da add-in
Mono_Giganto
Are there community tools for editing the 2da.s? KotOR Tool handles .2da's (And almost everything else...). Edit: Should have known someone would beat me to it.
