Just a question: Who wants to work on a conversion Mod with me?

Recommended Posts

Who wants to mod with me. I am aware of how much time they take to make, but It could be fun! I have a good Idea on one and I will post pictures on the party members for it and how they will look.

The Lord of Peace (you can play as him, and he claims he once was the Lord of Pain. This mod suggests that Lucien Draay was once Sion but was redeemed but changed back to normal and he escaped Malachor. He is married to a Mirakula named Quin'alin or whatever her name was in the comics)

This is really not the right place for such a question. You have a thread in the mod requests section, and PMing is best for recruitment.

And to be honest with you, no one wants to do a total conversion mod other than Logan23 and his crew. And JuniorModder.

Ain't that the truth.

d'ya think I should contact one of them. I know Logan is busy with His Revenge of Darth Revan Mod though.

If they're working on their own mods, they're gonna be too busy to help you out with your mods.

I suggest you do you own mods, and get better at it until you are confident you can do a TC without having to ask others to do the majority of the work.

I agree. The best way to begin modding is to start small, and gradually work your way up. I've seen so many people in here begin trying to make big plans for a TC, and just have it crash and burn because of a lack of skills, time, or effort.

Okay, I'm going to explain this very simply: No one wants to help you. It's not because we hate you or anything but simply because we don't have the time or motivation. Total conversions are the most difficult thing to create when it comes to these games. The only people who are doing total conversions are too busy to help you. Everyone else is either helping them or doing other things or has no desire to mod at the time being.

And frankly, you need to contribute to other projects before your going to get any assistance other than basic information. Have you posted any mods? Even worked on mods? Do you have any modding skills? All you are asking is people to build this for you, which is not going to happen. At all.

Unless I am wrong and you have worked on something like this in the past?

I think both of you (slstoev and Mrcharlton) need to learn a bit more about modding. It's a daunting task, but it isn't actually all that difficult once you begin to understand how mods work.

I suggest the first things you try to learn are skinning and 2DA editing. 2DA editing is actually very easy once figure out what the heck all of these letters and numbers mean.

I can help you on skinning, VO's. That's about all I have time for. But I am more than willing to help you learn how to mod, eve if it means taking a small break from New Jedi Order.

And trust me Mrcharlton, if you are serious about making your mod, do it. Go for it. But you have to know the mod and the story beforehand. It's easy to get discouraged here sometimes. Flesh out your story, then you can start the actual modding. I'll continue to help through PMs.

First thing. I have modded games many years mchlarten, and the first thing you need to learn in patience. When i started modding, for EAW, i started small, and then i progressed to big. You want to take small steps, learn other aspects of modding.

As Junior Modder Said, go for it, but you need to slow down and consider if it is possible. To be a leader, you need to show leadership skills and patience for your team, otherwise the whole thing falls apart. Plus, if you start a modding group and immediately want to do a TC, they may not be ready, for they want to get accustomed to the group before they go for a huge project

As I said in our pm, we have a massive addon planned, but it wont be in the near future. Thats because we dont have enough people, and we still are learning more in the aspects of modding.

Even the most experienced modders may still be learning some skills. Plus, A TC is a painful process, which will take months, maybe years to complete. Look at the TSLRP from Team Gizka, they have been working on that thing for years. a TC would take almost as long, or as long, or even longer. Are you sure you are ready for that?

Thats all i have to say, remember these words of advice
