I guess we're all slightly bored of the whole "monkey island is a themepark" idea, and besides, it's clearly not the whole truth of the matter...

So here I present to you my new take on the matter:

You can read more detail in my blog post here.

Let me know what you think!

Heh, I think you're giving them far too much credit for what they were trying to do with the story here... but I like that you're thinking outside of the conventional boxes. Personally I lean towards the fourth-wall-breaking theory re. the concept of reality, and the idea that the game is self-conscious of the fact that it is a pixellated facade.

Ha! Awesome concept! Not sure I totally go along with it, but it certainly makes you think of all the other interesting ways in which it could all be interpreted! I definitely prefer this solution to the theme park one.

Wow, that take on the secret was certainly unexpected!

I have never thought of anything like that till now. I don't really think this is THE secret, but it sure fits in the story.

Nice video by the way.

Thanks, this was my first video made using iMovie after switching over to Mac, and I was really impressed!

I also am still not fully satisfied with the theory, in that there are STILL some unexplained clues I have yet to find a meaning for. But I thought it added something to the debate anyway, so I may as well go ahead and publish rather than waiting around hoping for the "perfect" theory.

Really interesting... I didn't know that Guybrush was abandoned and went to an orphanage (as MI2 suggests). I'd love a future MI game to explore Guybrush's parentage.

Goes to show how rich Mi2 is as well, when there's all these interesting things touched on in the game.
