KotOR II Cut Content

Recommended Posts

Hey, I know about all of the major cut content in KotOR II, but I want to know about more of the little things. Like things that isnt usually talked about, or isnt on Wookieepedia. Just post the cut content you know about below.

P.S. This is mostly a thread for reference and interest. Maybe someone could take up restoring it?

Trust me, I have looked through every single file in the game files of Kotor II, but there are things that were taken out of the PC version of Kotor II.

Where you aware of the dialog where Grenn interrogates the Exile about the events at Peragus?

Contrary to popular belief, not much more is in the xbox version than the PC version. Hk Factory and M4-78 is basically it, maybe a few unimportant discrepancies.

I do know about a little guy they used for testing. His name is Temp Man and he is in the Telos IV modules. His file name is (quite obviously) tempman.dlg. It's kinda funny, go check it out in Kotor Tool.

I dont think you guys understand what I mean. I said I know about all the major cut content, I.E. the list at deadlystream. I'm asking about anything that isnt listed there.

I don't think that there is much more than that list ;). Also, not everything that somehow was there somewhere along the road of the games developement is cut content. Stuff they used for testing or for example was replaced by something else (like the Diciple replacing Dvakvar Grark) is not cut, it just was not intended for the games end-users, at least not in the end.

Not that it's still funny to play around with these things. Making them available just isn't really restoring ;) (more of a semantic problem there ^^).

Yeah, Dvakvar actually WAS the disciple because he was supposed to use the same voice actor.

And as for the testing characters(Temp Man, as I said before), I know they are not cut content, they were ust used for testing. If you look at their dialogue it's quite obvious.

Sounds like a job for CrisG! He's had experience compiling a list like this for KotOR1, so perhaps he'll do one for TSL. I've just sent him a request to do so.

Awesome. I went through everything in kotor tool(took me about nine hours) a couple days ago so I doubt there will be anything I dont know about unless it is from the xbox version.

While searching through the game files, I found something about HK-47.

Apparently, you werent supposed to be gathering pieces of HK originally. You were actually supposed to meet him at the

HK-47: Greeting: It has been a long time, T3, but my search is over.

T3: Dreeee-roop?! BREET!

HK-47: Observation: Though your panicked reaction sends a warm glow through my receptors, I know from whence it originates. You have met HK protocol droids before...and been a victim of their heavy-handed tactics that are smearing my good name all over the galaxy. I wish to ask you about your meatbag leader...and if he could be persuaded to help me...as it will aid him as well.

T3: Dwooooooo.

Hope this is interesting to some of you.

Probably because it makes no sense in the context of the story.

yes, and there are so many other lines that are related to rebuilding him, for example him saying "Perhaps someone was already in the process of rebuilding me"

This, and/or it's actually material from the E3 demo. Regardless, just because something's cut doesn't mean it's worth restoring. This is a prime example, since it clearly comes from a previous version of the game's plot, if indeed it is actually from the 'game proper' at all.

There are a couple of lines for Mira on Nar Shadaa, and IIRC a couple of lines indicating the presenc of a Sith temple on Telos. Pretty sure both of those are from the E3 demo, and I'd guess this HK material is, too. My guess is that for this they cut together a few completed sequences/fabricated some (Peragus, in this version, needed it's power core starting, IIRC; the Sith temple is probably the Dxun tomb, and meeting HK would be a cute spoiler after the shoot-out with the HK-50s).

Your post sounded kind of familiar, so I checked youtube and found this video that was originally on IGN. I think it's from around early or mid 2004.
