Fallen Guardian
So I installed Kotor 1 on my new PC with windows 7 on it and all works fine aside from two things. I can't enable soft shadows, and HK's texture is just messed up. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Can anyone tell me what is going on? No mods have been applied to HK's texture or .TXI file.
Phildevil
Might that be an issue with your graphic card?
CptPriceless
It could be your graphic processor. You see I have a windows 7 64 bit, and when I ran KOTOR 1, my Sith Troopers had tiger stripes (shiny ones too). So I just installed a mod - the White Armor Sith Trooper mod. Don't worry about it; you can install other mods. Try these things: Manually enable soft shadows on your swkotor.ini file. Extract the HK Texture and put it in the override folder. Install a mod to replace HK's skin (I prefer drewton's ) Good luck Fallen
Fallen Guardian
I don't know. It's upgraded from my old PC and on my old PC everything worked fine. I tried extracting the texture and that didn't work. I really like HK's default texture so..
CptPriceless
Upgraded hmm? Maybe it's just Windows 7 being unfriendly to KOTOR. Try running it in compatibility mode.
Fallen Guardian
I've already done that. Hmm, maybe it's the .txi? I'll put a copy of that in the override as well. EDIT: Not the .txi....hmmm.
CptPriceless
Perhaps. If that doesn't work, then well, I don't know what does. Hey, try putting a mod in your override folder and see if it comes out right.
Fallen Guardian
Okay. I'll try that.
CptPriceless
Oh and while you're at it, can you take a look at your systems folder in the control panel? Are they the same as before? If so, again, it's probably just funky Windows 7.
Fallen Guardian
The mod works. Yeah it's the same. I'm going to see if I can't get the default texture to work though.

Fallen Guardian
I believe it is a problem with my vanilla texture. Can anyone send me a PM so I can give you my email and you can send me your vanilla texture?
Canaan Sadow
Maybe it's just been so long since I've played the game, but... I fail to see what the difference is. o.o

I fail to see what the difference is. o.o[/quote'] You have a very strange avatar... I believe it is a problem with my vanilla texture. Can anyone send me a PM so I can give you my email and you can send me your vanilla texture? Have you checked the TGA? are there any abnormalities? Fallen Guardian
The eyes appear to be missing from the TGA and it seems much darker.
Canaan Sadow
Well I googled him... and he looks the same, just the eyes... maybe you should find the file in Ktool, it should be the texture file (check to make sure the eyes are there) and if they are, then throw it in your override... CptPriceless
Alright I sent the email. Does it work?
Fallen Guardian
Well, I got it to look almost exactly the same as the vanilla texture. I used the HK polished mod and copied the vanilla texture on top of that a bunch of times to lighten it. Then I used an alpha channel and it looks almost the same as the vanilla should look.
