Guest Bobio Posted October 14, 2001 Posted October 14, 2001 Anyone else check that thing out? Its gona be pretty durn useful when attacking an enemy base
darthfergie Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 See what enemy sees and get a fix on the location of enemy's commander...Only costs 100 Nava instead of 999 or so for spying in AoK...
Guest WC_heavyarms Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 This is the same thing as spies, is this what I am thinking fergie? In AoK, it was 50 gold times the amount of villagers your opponent had. They should have left it that way, decreases lag.
Paragon_Leon Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 the price of spies/treason in AOK is so high, that you seldom get to research it... i prefer the way GB does it; ANOTHER plus for that game !
Guest ReaperFett Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 does that mean that by L4, you cant do any suprise attacks then, as theyve seen it all? Bit sucky IMO
Guest ReaperFett Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 so certain armies can see all, and others cant? That's worse
darthfergie Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 ceratin civs have the tech and others don't...it balances out though so I wouldn't worry about it....
Guest ReaperFett Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 considering my thread a bit down, I am VERY worried
Guest WC_heavyarms Posted October 23, 2001 Posted October 23, 2001 It probably is only used by the weaker civs, like the wookies or the gungans to make people want to play them.
Guest ImpStarII Posted October 25, 2001 Posted October 25, 2001 Good I like spying on people it is very fun! Ha HA hA! From the Star Destroyer, Sly ImpStarII I see you
Compa_Mighty Posted November 2, 2001 Posted November 2, 2001 It costs 100 Nova crystals per enemy worker. In AoK it costs 200 Gold per enemy villager.

Zygomaticus Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 so what is the main purpose of this reveal the whole map?? see everything that your opponent has explored what if he explored less than u???
Paragon_Leon Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 It reveals the entire map AND shows you all movement from enemy units as well.. very useful, and most of the times decisive in multiplay..
duder Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 its incredibly useful for finishing enemies off, when they try to rebuild a base somewhere else, us ethe spies and they will be revealed. It is way too expensive to use at the peak of evryones advance, from my experience it is used to chase up the remains of a civ!!!
Guest Darth_Venage Posted November 28, 2001 Posted November 28, 2001 Idon't know if it was just me, but I don't think you can use the Spy Net in Deathmatch. Has anyone else noticed that??
Grimjack Posted November 28, 2001 Posted November 28, 2001 The main purpose of it is so you can find those last couple of units without spending 30 min to do it. If you try to buy the upgrade while the game is in full swing it will cost 6000 nova but after your oppnents have been beat down it becomes more reasonable. They put it in AOE2 because in the first one the game wouldn't end until you killed ALL of the enemy. So you would spend 30 min looking for that one villager behind a tree or on a transport in the far corner of the map.
DarthNoodles Posted November 28, 2001 Posted November 28, 2001 ...I find it quite useful. Yes it costs A LOT. I've paid 7000 nova for it before. But it's SO handy. What it REALLY does is let's you see what your enemies see, which means you then know what your enemies CAN'T see. Get the idea? I especcialy like it on the space maps where everyone is on their own island. Research that and then drop your transports where you KNOW they wont see them. build a force in the "hidden corner" and bring them in. Works well. Can also use it to know how far outside of their base to build where they still can't see you. Great for sneak atacks. And harder for them to sneak attack you. Costly but good.
