Chevron 7 locke Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 I think hes offline let me check
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 1999?! You can go back to take advantage of everyone's nieveness over the Y2K bug.
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 woops. first stop in 1996 to take control of Lucasforums, then 1999 to take advantage of all thos people...
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I think we scared people away. We must have been spamming the forums. I hope we gave some people a laugh or two. Sometimes people get too serious here, and they need to lighten up.
Alkonium Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I hope you don't mind me joining. I love time travel and screwing with timelines, especially when there are paradoxes. I even wrote a blog post on it!
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Not at all! The more the better. *Tosses Alkonium a beer*
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Time treveling is one of the most intelligent things about science-fiction. What aspects of time travel did you write about?
Alkonium Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Mainly about the infinite branching model of time, and how when travelling into the future, there's no knowing which future you'll go to, and when travelling into the past, there's almost no way to return to the exact same present that you came from, which runs the risk of there being two of you when you return to the present.
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 I know people will join. Redhawke will join so he can go back and ban everyone who ever joined lucasforums. CommanderQ will join so he can do...CommanderQ stuff...and I'll join so I can go back and lock every thread rouge nine has ever started in retaliation for his locking of my fanfic thread
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Dimensional thinking? Nice! I have always been interested in the Grandfather Paradox and the possiblity of String Theory. Multiple dimensions laying on top of each other, and how time is affected on each layer.
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Has anyone seen the Stargate SG-1 movie Continuum? Its a nice look at how a time paradox could occur.
Alkonium Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 No, but I do watch a lot of Doctor Who. Good number of paradoxes in that. My favourite involving a paradox might be Time Crash.
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Star Trek just released a Fan Collective pack. I don't have it in front of me, but there are some great episodes in the collection. H. G. Well III did a great job on his grandfather's movie. I think The Time Machine from the 1960s and the latest one are some of the best adaptations. Temporal Mechanics used to explore deeply beyond the current human era, and into a future where civilization reverts back to a primitive way of life.
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 I saw the stragate move...and i loved it. I saw Doctor Who...and I fell in love with Rose cause she is so...mischevious
CommanderQ Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Unfortunately, I have been banned temporarily on certain threads, I have learned from my grave mistake.
Yar-El Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 KotOR I: PCGAMEMODS.COM KotOR II: PCGAMEMODS.COM This has to be the biggest time travel tease of all. You can see and read the mods in the archives, but you can't download them to use. I wonder why this site is gone now. I wish I was around to download those. Hey CommanderQ! Everything is going pretty well. Welcome!
CommanderQ Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 BWA HA HA! WE HAVE DUG UP THE PAST! Good to hear everyone is doing well!
Alkonium Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 So, should we attempt to cause any paradoxes, then?
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 *goes forward in time and invades ireland* Hello there old chaps! What ?! why do I have a british accent? *Goes back and invades lucasforums* Aye!! We gonna take the wee beasties!!! *realizes he has a scottish accent* I can live with this one!
