Scummbuddy Posted January 20 Posted January 20 I was curious if any mojo-er happened to have a copy of the Game Developer magazine May 2010 edition, which features the post-mortem of "Tales of Monkey Island", and would be willing to sell it to me. (Maybe @Jake ??) I've got a magazine cover to celebrate all of the Monkey Island games except this game, and I'd love to have it for my collection. I don't think my current one would pass a keen eye. Try and spot it. 1 1
Jake Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Does that issue have a Tales cover? I don’t think I have it but I’ll dig through my stuff. 1
Scummbuddy Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 Well I guess we now need two copies. And it does indeed have a Tales cover! https://mixnmojo.com/media/galleries/Tales-of-Monkey-Island-Press 2
Staple Remover Posted January 22 Posted January 22 That is one heck of a great collection! I hope you find a Tales copy! 1
Scummbuddy Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Thankfully, and with a little bit of luck, I was able to get a print copy through eBay this past week. It has happily found it's way alongside the other magazines in my collection. 1
Jake Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Nice! I forgot to update the thread but I failed to find a copy in my collection of Telltale stuff. Glad you got one.
Sebastian.Zissou Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Hi, Scummbuddy! Can you update the photo with all the magazines, please? Thanks! 1
Scummbuddy Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 (edited) Sure can. Here it is before I bag it up. And underneath the poster here is a 22"x31" (59cm x 79cm) poster of Vampyre Story; 8-way fold out from what seems a German(?) PCGames magazine. Edited February 18 by Scummbuddy 1
Aro-tron Posted February 18 Posted February 18 That collection of magazines is somehow more satisfying to me than seeing a collection of game boxes all lined up together. The visual symmetry is so pleasing- three Elaine in the right corner; three LeChucks in the left corner, Guybrush's blue jacket in the two middle spots, and getting to compare three Purcell versions of Guybrush. I love how the visual style evolves across the boxes in a way that seems more gradual than it felt at the time they were released. I also have a soft spot for this because I wore out the Curse copy of PC Gamer as a kid, and played the demo disc to an inch of its life. 1 1
