Davo
in realtion to the poll "what are you looking forward to the most - single player or mulitplayer", i really think by combining the two, the game would be aweasome (just like Diablo2). It would be awesome if you could progress in the story with your friends in co-operative multiplayer (again, like Diablo2!) Perhaps later down the track, people could even create 'quests' which you and your friends could undertake together. Actually, i think JK2 could learn alot from Diablo 2, such as implementing a skill tree, where certain skills must be learnt before others can, and you need to be a certain level to gain them. Also i reckon 'why limit the skills to just force abilities?' How about other skills such as stealth and weapon specialisation. Anyway, there just my thoughts. i have plenty more!!! Guest Home_Sliced
I think this is the game you are looking for: http://station.sony.com/starwars Last I heard, Co-Op was one of the MP modes being planned. That would most likely include the ability to run through the SP campaign co-op style.
TheJackal_jk2
SeriousSam had a great Co-operative play mode. But the net coding was very annoying. Often I was ejected from the game or "out of synch" errors.
Chewie_Rips
From recent articles, and post on JKO realted sites, this is being planned. Also, I think even in E3 footage from Gamegal, the guy stated that there would be CO-OP capabilites for JKO???...so I would assume yes, and hope its implemented as planned....I think we all would agree that this would be a great addition.... Swoosh
Co-operative mode was planned, but the statement on the website was pulled back shortly after e3. This was most likely because implimenting co-op would be too difficult with the type of game JKII is. Swoosh
Guest digl
Serious sam is great for coop As I have a terrible connection I play it with my brother using two mouses That is really cool, most games should have 2nd mice support
Darth Lunatic1587246489
Co-op was one of the multiplayer options i really wanted in obi-wan, when i thought it was coming to the pc. Co-op multiplayer is probably the most fun version of a multiplayer. Unless they pull off a 'counter-strike' like effort with teamplay... A game that would have been great with co-op was Rune. But the programmers whinged about it being too hard or some bs.
GonkH8er
coop was the only reason i kept playing things like doom2 and duke3d years after they were passè.... ive said it before and ill say it again... man i love being a turtle! ...... wait........ thats not right....... i mean..... co-op is good. yeah. Davo
they better include a co-op mode! me and my bro play with each other (i know that doesn't sound good) over our home LAN, it really rocks. It would be cool if we could go through the proper story line together ( i know that wouldn't work out too good, as there is only one Kyle!!), but still cool. Chewie_Rips
If they do not implement co-op, in the first realase..I have 2 words...Expansion Pack......
GonkH8er
i dont think there has ever been an expansion pack thats had that much redesigning of original code of the game, but it is a possibility. my thoughts are though, that if its not in jk2 by itself, we wont see it
Chewie_Rips
your probably right Gonk, it would take some serious work, but who knows...maybe we get lucky
Dethlord
Doom1 co-op r0x0red all of you. They better damn well have co-op available in JK2, or at least consider it. The last co-op game I played was Doom and it kicked serious ass. It's probably the most fun MP game type.
Bartolo_JCS
I just hope the singleplayer is all out the best and rox a whole lot more than it did in Jedi Knigth because if you ask me the singleplayer in DF was better than Jedi Knight. That's just my input.
Gromas
Yah they even had coop back in the days of Quake 1! Now THAT was a h00t. Never got a chance to try the Doom coop. Raven, if you're reading this... PLEEEASSSEEE add coop!
nykel007
Co-op would be good if used in JK2. Instead of the usual normal modes of gameplay over the net, fragging each other a common goal can be acheived.
Wilhuf
Coop would definitely rock Jedi Outcast. Last words I heard from Simon Jeffery during the recent chat is that LEC are 'still looking' at coop as an option for JKO. Yes, the Rune coop mod is great fun (although the mod team put way too many weak monsters, which clog up the data stream, rather than include fewer, more powerful monsters to unclog the network). Guest Kurgan
Coop play rocks my sox! Darkhawk and I played through Serious Sam in coop mode over our LAN (played almost the entire game in one sitting). Never had any eject errors and only a couple of "lags" here and there that were barely noticable. It was so much fun, and it was just run 'n' gun. Imagine it with the option to use Sabers and Force powers on "Assault" type missions? Incredible, I can't wait! There are lots of ways you could make coop partners "fit the story" with JK2. Barring unexpected plot revelantions, how about Jan Ors or Mara Jade? Or Luke Skywalker? Exactly. ; ) Kurgan [ August 02, 2001: Message edited by: Kurgan ]
Denise
I won't be getting my hopes up, personally. Sure, I'd love co-op play, but in my experience it's one of those things that every designer wants to include and very few actually deliver on. Did Elite Force have co-op? Soldier of Fortune? I haven't played either, so I couldn't say. Always remember, true pessimists are never disappointed. Only gratified to be proven correct or pleasantly surprised to have been wrong. Wilhuf
Heretic II, by Raven, features coop play. So, at least there is a Raven precedent.
nykel007
Here's an idea, maybe in co-op you can either play one of three jedi. And go though some sort of quest/missions, that won't clash with the orinigal storyline.
GonkH8er
but once again, essentially it comes down to LEC. its an LEC game at heart, and whatever lec says goes. have there been any co-op LEC games?
Davo
yes there have been LEC co-op games look at X-Wing VS Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. In XvT you could go through whole battles and campaigns together and in X-Wing Alliance you could customize your own multi-games, with who is on which team, what ships they are in, how many there is of them, etc... (you could create your own co-op, e.g. you and your friend, against an Imperial outpost of fleet or whatever) but other than that i dont think there are any others but its a start
