Co-operative play

in realtion to the poll "what are you looking forward to the most - single player or mulitplayer", i really think by combining the two, the game would be aweasome (just like Diablo2).

It would be awesome if you could progress in the story with your friends in co-operative multiplayer (again, like Diablo2!)

Perhaps later down the track, people could even create 'quests' which you and your friends could undertake together.

Actually, i think JK2 could learn alot from Diablo 2, such as implementing a skill tree, where certain skills must be learnt before others can, and you need to be a certain level to gain them.

Also i reckon 'why limit the skills to just force abilities?'

How about other skills such as stealth and weapon specialisation.

Anyway, there just my thoughts.

i have plenty more!!! :)

From recent articles, and post on JKO realted sites, this is being planned. Also, I think even in E3 footage from Gamegal, the guy stated that there would be CO-OP capabilites for JKO???...so I would assume yes, and hope its implemented as planned....I think we all would agree that this would be a great addition....

Co-operative mode was planned, but the statement on the website was pulled back shortly after e3. This was most likely because implimenting co-op would be too difficult with the type of game JKII is.

Serious sam is great for coop

As I have a terrible connection I play it with my brother using two mouses

That is really cool, most games should have 2nd mice support

Co-op was one of the multiplayer options i really wanted in obi-wan, when i thought it was coming to the pc.

Co-op multiplayer is probably the most fun version of a multiplayer. Unless they pull off a 'counter-strike' like effort with teamplay...

A game that would have been great with co-op was Rune. But the programmers whinged about it being too hard or some bs.

I think there is a mod for Rune for co-op. I haven't tried it yet though.

they better include a co-op mode!

me and my bro play with each other (i know that doesn't sound good) over our home LAN, it really rocks. It would be cool if we could go through the proper story line together ( i know that wouldn't work out too good, as there is only one Kyle!!), but still cool.

Coop would definitely rock Jedi Outcast.

Last words I heard from Simon Jeffery during the recent chat is that LEC are 'still looking' at coop as an option for JKO.

Yes, the Rune coop mod is great fun (although the mod team put way too many weak monsters, which clog up the data stream, rather than include fewer, more powerful monsters to unclog the network).

Coop play rocks my sox!

Darkhawk and I played through Serious Sam in coop mode over our LAN (played almost the entire game in one sitting). Never had any eject errors and only a couple of "lags" here and there that were barely noticable.

It was so much fun, and it was just run 'n' gun. Imagine it with the option to use Sabers and Force powers on "Assault" type missions? Incredible, I can't wait!

There are lots of ways you could make coop partners "fit the story" with JK2. Barring unexpected plot revelantions, how about Jan Ors or Mara Jade? Or Luke Skywalker? Exactly. ; )

I won't be getting my hopes up, personally. Sure, I'd love co-op play, but in my experience it's one of those things that every designer wants to include and very few actually deliver on.

Did Elite Force have co-op? Soldier of Fortune? I haven't played either, so I couldn't say.

Always remember, true pessimists are never disappointed. Only gratified to be proven correct or pleasantly surprised to have been wrong. ;)

yes there have been LEC co-op games

look at X-Wing VS Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance.

In XvT you could go through whole battles and campaigns together

and in X-Wing Alliance you could customize your own multi-games, with who is on which team, what ships they are in, how many there is of them, etc... (you could create your own co-op, e.g. you and your friend, against an Imperial outpost of fleet or whatever)

but other than that

i dont think there are any others

but its a start :)
