The Sith Kid Posted December 29, 2001 Posted December 29, 2001 Hi again rogues... Do you think The Lord of the Rings is very incomplete? I think yes, 'cause they have changed a lot of argument...Tom Bombadil and the Forest...they have "inserted" Arwen without cause...etc...
Boba Rhett Posted December 29, 2001 Posted December 29, 2001 I think that it was as close to perfect as a movie can get. Let's face it. Having Tom in the movie would not have been a good thing. A short, colorful, jolly, fat man dancing around singing in the middle of all the intensity? No thank you. And Arwen? She can be in any movie she wants to be in as far as I'm concerned. I feel that they needed another female character and a romance in it anyway.
Cmdr. Cracken Posted December 29, 2001 Posted December 29, 2001 There's a definate middle ground bewteen the book and the movie. The producer's and writers, and directors HAD to cut some of the book OUT to create a movie that people would reasonably sit through, and expand on other elements to appeal to a g=nice demographic. I think they hit this middle ground very well, and yeah, Tom babidill would have been wierd in such an intense movie. (i mean, come on, it was pretty quick, and moving.)
Wraith 8 Posted December 31, 2001 Posted December 31, 2001 Sorry... havent seen it yet... but im gonna with my dad and my brother in law....... and ill get back to you!!
The Sith Kid Posted December 31, 2001 Author Posted December 31, 2001 still thinking the movie is incomplete...'cause Where is the scene when Saruman changes his robes colors?? And the escene of the ring in Frodo's home... That secene was incorrect: In the Book: 1 Gandalf was waiting to Frodo 2 Frodo talks to Gandalf 3 Gandalf says Frodo to show him the ring 4 Gandalf says Frodo: ¿Can you see anything? 5 Frodo says: No... 6 Gandalf says: Put it into the fire 7 Frodo says: No! It will... 8 Gandalf put the ring into the fire 9 Gandalf take the ring and show it to Frodo 10 Frodo says: Hey! I can read something! 11 Gandalf tell Frodo the history of the ring and Gollum, etc... In the New Line Cinema movie is NOT like the book, and in the book its so cool.
