Artoo Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 I edited this to say I feel really stupid b/c I deleted an innocent file. My friend called me and told me they had the computer taken to the shop and it was a screen error that caused the crash. The virus is a hoax and the filename helps restore corrupt files. I'm sorry for anyone that deleted this little file. Check the link below for reinstalling.
DashRendar Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 Got any official stuff? I found it on my system and it looked wierd so I did delete it but I'd just like to know if you have any backup.
Wacky_Baccy Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 Before you do anything in response to finding sulfnbk.exe on your hard drive, read this. Pay special attention to KordKelly's third post (last but one). W_B
Artoo Posted January 3, 2002 Author Posted January 3, 2002 It crashed a person from my school's computer, his mom used her computer to send a warning e-mail. That is all the info I have. I am dead serious about this. If it goes w/ windows shouldn't it come w/ windows and not be passeed around the internet? My mom's computer did not have it. Also why the weird name, and why the black icon. I tell you it points to virus and it's affects I have seen.
Boba Rhett Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 It's not a virus. Read what the report says about it. It's some sort of debugger or something.
digl Posted January 3, 2002 Posted January 3, 2002 http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/sulfnbk.exe.warning.html symantec say Its a hoax
