Jedi Legend
I don't remember Kyle ever killing a Sith, but I haven't finished playing MOTS yet. I think the original Dark Forces took place before ANH because it was Kyle that stole the Death Star plans and sent them to Leia. Well I'm a little scruffy on time lines, but when did Mara and Luke get together? About 15 years after Return of the Jedi (19 years after ANH). Doesn't he kill Maw? A turn to the dark side...and also he killed Jerec...
Denise
They're Dark Jedi, not Sith. Not that there's a huuuuge distinction between the two, but I'm pretty sure that's what he's getting at. Anyway, Luke is more powerful than Kyle by virtue of the simple fact that Luke is a Lucas character while Kyle is some unknown Joe-nobody extra who could be written out of the universe in no time flat. Think of it: Jar Jar Binks is more important than Kyle, too. **shudder**

dazilla
The expanded universe books explain that very well, actually. Especially when we meet Joruus C'Baoth.
Impulse49
So... what IS the difference between Sith Lords and Dark Jedi? I don't know. - Ibrahim Ng impulse49@psi-fi.com
dazilla
Sith Lords follow a culture, a tradition started by a Darth Bane or something like that, very very long ago. It's kind of to the Dark Side what the Jedi of the Republic are to the Light Side. Dark jedi are kind of like outcasts, they do whatever they want, whenever they want, using their power to help only themselves.
Guest Wolverine
Kyle being more powerful than Luke? I'll tell you one thing, Vader is a hell of a lot stronger than any of the seven Dark Jedi.
Emon
Luke should be in his 30's or around there in JK2. Remember, since Luke is such a powerful Jedi, he'll look like he's 30 when he's 300. The light side of the force prolongs age, while the dark side accelerates it.
StormHammer
Heh...seems this topic of conversation crops up now and again...so here's a response I made earlier... TIMELINE (Source: Behind The Magic CD) -1 to 0 Dark Forces (computer game - Kyle's age unknown, but approximately 20's?) 0 Star Wars: A New Hope (Luke Skywalker is 18 years old) ANH +3 Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back (rescue of Crix Madine by Kyle?) ANH +4 Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi Bounty Hunter Wars: Mandalorian Armour Bounty Hunter Wars: Slave Ship Bounty Hunter Wars: Hard Merchandise Truce at Bakura Jedi Knight (Computer Game) Dark Forces: Rebel Agent (illustrated novel) Dark Forces: Jedi Knight (illustrated novel) ANH +5 - Era Of The New Republic The Glove of Dark Vader The Lost City of The Jedi Zorba The Hutt's Revenge Mission from Mount Yoda Queen Of The Empire Prophets Of The Dark Side ANH +6.5-7.5 X-Wing: Rogue Squadron X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble X-Wing: The Krytos Trap X-Wing: The Bacta War X-Wing: Wraith Squadron X-Wing: Iron Fist X-Wing: Solo Command ANH +8 The Courtship of Princess Leia ANH +9 X-Wing: Isard's Revenge Thrawn Trilogy: Heir To The Empire Thrawn Trilogy: Dark Force Rising Thrawn Trilogy: The Last Command ANH +10 Dark Empire Dark Empire II Empire's End Crimson Empire Jedi Knight: Mysteries Of The Sith (computer game - 6 years after Jedi Knight) ANH +11 Jedi Academy Trilogy: Jedi Search Jedi Academy Trilogy: Dark Apprentice Jedi Academy Trilogy: Champions Of The Force I, Jedi ANH +12-13 Children Of The Jedi Darksaber Planet Of Twilight X-Wing: Starfighters Of Adumar ANH +13-14 JEDI KNIGHT II: JEDI OUTCAST (suggested by Haden Blackman in a chat transcript with LEC) ANH +14 The Crystal Star ANH +16-17 The Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy The New Rebellion ANH +18 The Corellian Trilogy ANH +19 Specter Of The Past Vision Of The Future ANH +22-23 Junior Jedi Knights books Young Jedi Knights books ANH +25 New Jedi Order books... Vector Prime Dark Tide: Onslaught So now you know approximately where JKII is supposed to be set during the timeline. It comes approx. 4 years after the end of MotS, the Jedi Academy has been up and running for about 2-3 years, and the Black Fleet Crisis has yet to happen. Luke Skywalker will be about 31-32, and I suspect Kyle is in his mid 30's. Incidentally, Luke didn't directly kill Vader or the Emperor. Vader killed the Emperor - and the Emperor's lightning killed Vader. However, Luke turning Vader back to the Light side culminated in these events, which may not have taken place otherwise, so he was indirectly responsible for their deaths. As for Sith and Dark Jedi...the Sith were supposedly an ancient race that were subverted by Dark Jedi magic. The most powerful practitioners of the Dark Side became Lords of the Sith, but there were constant power struggles which led to the One Sith Master, One Apprentice rule. Jerec and the other six were only Dark Jedi...but with the Emperor and Vader gone, Jerec probably wanted to become the next Lord Of The Sith, which would explain his quest to harness the power in the Valley of The Jedi. So, strictly in those terms, Kyle killed 7 Dark Jedi...Luke Skywalker did not directly kill any Dark Jedi, but stood up to 2 Sith Lords. Well, that's my take on it anyway. Denise
Nitpick: Kyle kills six Dark Jedi. Sariss kills Yun. Yes, Kyle does defeat Yun, but Luke defeats Vader, too. (Or, if you're a Darkside type, you never kill Sariss, so it works out to six either way).

There are so many errors in SW continuity that you'll never get happy !! Even Ep II does some things different than eu, so forget it !!! As long as it's just a small thing, and game is fun, I know I won't care .... Plus, having different versions of a tale is just like in our real world (yes, there's one !!)... We all know communism sucks, but go aks a russian what he thinks about it, and you'll see.....
