Medal of Honor - interesting lesson in 'objectives'

Never trust you objectives ... or be too confident in NPC's on your side ...

This made me laugh so I had to share -

I was finishing the first mission, and the remaining objective was to meet Grillo who would be in a truck out front. I looked out from the top of the light house and saw a truck driving up. Great ... I run down the stairs, through the hall, and ... stright into a hail of gun fire!!! The truck driving up was full of Germans! After I died and restarted, I was more cautious, obviously ... Grillo's truck was off to the other side of the lighthouse.

Cooperating with others is an interesting thing in a FPS ... in the trailer video we see Jan - it will be interesting to see that interaction, and with others. MoH has some nice interplay with Grillo (before he dies in the next mission, which I'm still working on), whereas RtCW has you against the world, pretty much. I'm very interested in how JO will implement it.

yeah I noticed that the truck was full, so I readied a nice frag and served em up pretty good. THe NPC's canbe VERY VERY stupid, but at other times very helpfull. When you get past Overlord you work ina house with another ranger and he makes a great shield :D

That didn't happen to me but one thing I did learn was those soldiers who are following you through the bombed out town are dumb as a hell. They always get killed easily barely take cover.

It would have been cool if they made the soldiers take cover whenever you do. I kneel down to get a good shot at a sniper and when I peek back at my men they're standing out in the open.

I couldn't find anything here http://www.planetmedalofhonor.com/mohaa/mp/console.shtml

Anyway - on the subject of stupid companions, on mission 4, where you have to kill the tank ... which is the demo level. As a demo, I played it and most everyone made it with me to at least the chuch. But now playing 'for real' they all died early in town ... I was also having more fun with my snipe gun .. maybe I was going too slow.

I am on the sniper level now ... I think I'll end up tripping on more of my own carcasses than I did on Normandy beach ;) Actually, I was pretty good dog food at the end of the last level - I never had 100 yards of road eat my lunch so bad after cruising so well through 95% of the level!

Yeah that last part at the end of the game was hard, i couldnt find any health packs at first and tried beating it with a measly 20 health, after dieing about 8 times i figured i better look harder for the health packs.

(for those that can't find em either i'll save you some grief, there is a health pack right in front of the elevator at the begining of the final escape, then on a barrel toward the halfway point of the map)
