Star Wars 'Trilogy' game?

Hi:

 

I played the 'Star Wars Trilogy' game yesterday at a Chuck-e-cheese (my younger son's 4th birthday, all of our first time to CEC) .. and I was wondering if it was ever released to a 'home' platform? Does anyone know what and/or where?

i really doubt if they are going to just release (i also doubt that it has been released)...most of time, the true arcade games dont go over to the pc/console section (but they do sometimes)

 

if i were you, i would go up and ask chunk e chuckers if you can buy it....

 

(and if you have the high score, watch the frogger episode on seinfeld heh)

You are correct ... and it (the game) is a lot like parts of Shadows of the Empire, and that game bored / frustrated / annoyed me a lot of the time. I was just wondering ... but if there was anything, I'd expect to see it on the LucasArts page ... nothing ...

That particular arcade game was made by Sega, very awesome BTW. It was rummored to be coming out on the Dreamcast (along with Jurasic Park arcade), but after Sega dropped the bomb it was known that it was never going to happen.

Some of the levels on this arcade game I really enjoyed, I think all the flight levels are good. I wasn't really impressed with the ground levels, but they were cool none the less. I really liked the bonus levels with Fett and Vader.

I think it was pretty cool for an arcade game with pretty much no replay value. I enjoyed it.

 

It was rumored to come out on the Dreamcast, but obviously that isn't going to happen.

There is a little hope, though. I mean by emulation. Sooner or later somebody will find the way to emulate the sega 3D chips. The rom of the game (that contain the program itself) was already dumped to a computer file.

 

There are a couple of projects out there, but I think that until some sega technician smuggles the data, we'll be out of luck

I remember when the game first became available in our arcade around here, and there were lines waiting to play the thing. I think it was the only game that got THAT much attention in a long time, since the '80's and early '90's for sure. Our arcade used to be quite a place at one time, but in recent times it isn't anywhere near what it used to be.

BTW anyone remember that Star Wars game that came out a little bit before Star Wars Trilogy? You could fly the X-Wing, but you could have a friend join in and be the gunner.. always thought it was a little silly, I thought it would make more sense having the Falcon instead of an X-Wing, since that ship had the turrets.

There's also this arcade game where you can actually do a lightsaber battle with darth vader aboard the second death star, i dont know what thats called, but its totally 3d

i remember the explicit amounts of happiness i had when i beat all the levels plus bonus with vader and fett without dying once!! ahhh the memories

They have that game at Canada's Wonderland, in Toronto. No one was playing it when I was there so it was all mine.
