Ham Yoyo
I've been using Western Digital hard drives for the last 5 years and have had no problems.
ZePhyR
Whatever size you get, go with the 7200 rpm. I hear those are quicker than 5400 or whatever the standard speed is.
IanZ
neweggs.com sells IBM 75GXP hard drives for cheap, they are probably the best kind of hard drives out there.
The Truthful Liar
I'd totally go with IBM... and those 7200RPM ones, That's what I am getting (60+60GB) Good Luck Cheers
GonkH8er
Maxtor drives are pretty quality. I stick with seagate and quantum though.
Kurgan
If you can avoid IBM drives, I would (sorry, bad experiences with them). ; p
Guest Krayt Tion
Avoid IBM drives for now. A recent series of their drives has been plagued with problems, or the least owns of these problematic IBM drives have been among the most vocal on the net. I wouldn't go on "I've had this drive and it's always been good" recommendations, either, no offense. Try a quality HD testing site that should answer all your questions, provided you put in the time to learn something. Here is a leaderboard from just such a site showing you the best drives in their classes based on their thorough testing: http://www.storagereview.com/articles/leaderboard.html Storage Review rules! Have fun!

Have fun! Krayt Tion is correct...especially the IBM Deskstar 75 GXP. I bought a 60 GXP and I had to return it late last year. Maxtor bought Quantum so that is probably the most reliable now but Western Digital seems to be a highly regarded HD too.
Chanke4252
Yah, I think I'm going WD. Ive heard good things about them and its what I've had installed in most of my old computers in the recent years. I found a 60GB 7400rpm one for $140 on amazon. JPMaximilian
I'd go with Western Digital, they're the best. IBM is also good, but if they're having some problems I'd go with the Western Dig.
