bliv
I was looking through a guide to the Weapons and Technology of the Star Wars universe earlier today and I was surprised to see that the Raven boys have used the book as inspiration for the weapons of Jedi Outcast. Included in the book are the following. BlasTech E-11 Blaster Rifle Tenloss DXR-6 Disruptor Rifle Golan Arms FC1 Flechette Launcher Others included the bowcaster etc. There are 2d side views of each weapon along with a 3d sketch of some. The BlasTech is looking very accurate in comparison with the sketch, while the Flechette looks perfect. The Disruptor Rifle has been modified to add a scope as the one in the sketch doesn't have a scope. If anyone is interested I'll scan in the images for you. StormHammer
Thanks for the info, bliv, and welcome to the forums. Here ya go... *hands over a chocolate Jedi Medallion*. Yes, some of the Raven guys have already told us they used quite a lot of background material as inspiration and reference...including the Guide to Weapons and Tech., I believe. Well spotted. Justus
The BlasTech E-11 rifle has been with us since the beginning, except it was generically named 'stormtrooper' rifle. The other two I am not as familiar with, but will no doubt have fun using them. Too bad we won't see the DL-44 heavyblaster...
Pedro The Hutt
Hehe.. that throws that complaint about "the new weapons not having a Star Wars feel" overboard ^^"
Redwing
The stun baton and Merr-Sonn missile launcher were also taken from the tech guide
OnlyOneCanoli
Or maybe Raven Stuck To Their Guns. Vagabond provided a description of the three you listed up there, and I'd guess they may have used more. But Vagabond might have just got the idea from the book you're talking about. digl
Vag' Column Reference Much thanks goes to the following sources I used during my research. The images come from Collectors Empire and The Death Star, and most of the technical data came from the "Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology", by Del Rey. B0MBER II
This "Guide to the Star Wars Universe" book SUCKS It mentions NOTHING from JK, nothing on those guns, nothing on ANYTHING in the games It's edition 3 also, has crap about EP1 but nothing about JK or MotS
OnlyOneCanoli
Oh well. It still would've been awesome if they took the ideas from his column.

Guest TarlSS
They're also weapons within the Star Wars RPG I believe. ( Not that wretched WoTC one, the good West End one). You can find Disruptors, Flechette Launchers and the Blastech E-11 in Gundark's Fantastic Technology. According to that, the Blastech E-11 is basically a rifle that looks similiar to the Stormtrooper Rifle, which is known as the Stormtrooper One, and was specifically made for stormtroopers. ScummyRAT
"that wretched WoTC one" Not so much wretched as thought-requiring. It depends entirely on the GM and the players, and their willingness to have a good time. Literally, anything can happen. Just because you have to know how to do it, and then actually put the idea into effect, doesn't mean that the game is bad. If you want to get into wretched, you'd want to know the backstory of the SW:CCG, and all the broken promises made by Decipher, Inc. They royally BF'ed that game. bliv
There was nothing on Kyle in the characters book, but in the droids book 8t88 featured. Kyle, of course, got a mention on that page.
Pedro The Hutt
Well Kyle is mentioned in the SW encyclopedia ^_^" But sadly that doesn't tell anything about his Jedi antics... probably because it got released rather shortly after JK's original release. Guest TarlSS
Of course it's wretched. It's a blatant rip off of D&D. A waste of good $$. Anyone could probably learn how to play WoTC SW just by converting a few D&D characters. I was expecting a new system, but it turn out they're having you pay 30$ for a mod basically.
