I think I kept my cool pretty well when the announcement was made. I found out the day after they let us know, Nov. 22, which was my birthday. Very annoying. I'd still enjoy going back and reading our responses in the forums, especially everyone who vowed to never buy another LEC game.

BTW, who here has that Crotch Shot pic from UT? That was funny as hell. Star Wars Gamers killed LucasArts. LucasArts will never have children. Or somehting like that. :D That was hilarious.

better view it quick before my geo****ties bandwidth gets sucked up. ;)

I also have a shot of the forums the day they canceled Obi-Wan- however- it doesn't exactly represent either LEC or our proudest moment, so I'm not sure if I should post it. Besides this is a happy thread right? :)

The forum contents WEREN'T saved ufortunetely. I tried to get them saved for a rainy day, but it wasn't to be I'm afraid.

Btw, wasn't the Galactic Plumberman eulogy posted on some virtual eulogy website? I remember that.....

Ahhh.... that's a little piece of history that. I remeber wandering into that place not knowing anyone.. :D fun days.

By the way....... do you all remeber that big argument we had with that gundamwing site about flogging our site design, and we were so sure they had, but then we learned out site design (like theirs) had been made by a professional web site design making site. Fun times :D

I remember on April 1st I managed to trick several of you that JediKnightII had been announced.

How I laughed..

I remember the last post we all gave, saying goodbye. I could swear Zero said it didn't matter because he had archived them. I am sure. Perhaps my mind is playing tricks with me.....

anyway, back to self imposed exile....

Well Zero, did you? =)

Heh, there sure are some memories in this thread. Gotta love that Crotchshot pic. That also reminds me of the OWK.Net Championships. Hopefully we'll get that one started again when JKII finally comes out.

digl, didn't we all e-mail those guys about stealing the OWK.Net design? I remember it caused quite a fuzz on the forums at least... ;)

LOL, the most recent news post from gundamwing.org:

"This is an IMPORTANT clarification on the status of GundamWing.ORG.

GW.ORG had recently been accused of copying the graphics from a different site. I had gone ahead to

checked out the site and yes indeed, we DO have the same interface graphics. However, I can rightfully say that

the graphics for GundamWing.ORG was NOT copied or ripped off from that site as the graphics was

obtained from http://www.eyewire.com (formerly known as NavWorks). I had paid

a fee toward Eyewire in order to be able to use the graphics for designing GundamWing.ORG. For anyone who wanted proof,

you can go to the URL: http://www.eyewire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/View.woa/wa/viewProduct?product=228950

and see for yourself that the graphics for GundamWing.ORG (as well as many other great interface layout)

can be obtained from Eyewire.com provided that you pay a fee."

Yes, I do remember the gundamwing thing, for it 'twas I who spearheaded that operation against them after seeing a link to their site on TFN's forums.

I pushed that thing far after I was assured by higher-ups that a graphic artist was brought in to make it for us. As things pressed on we were forced to look more closely at this supposed 'artist' who had done a graphic just for owk.net.

The fact that they did such a hackjob on their 'version' originally made things much worse then they would have been, had their final version been as professional as the original artists'. It was all very suspect.

Heh hey... someone should find the infamous post by Darth Lunatic (I think) that talked about him putting Simon Jeffery's head on a spear. Wow, some people got ticked alright!

Oh, and who coined "Force Long Post"? I know it happened somewhere close to Kurgan. ;)

Force Long Post originally involved a comment (don't remember from who) regarding the lengthyness and effectiveness of Kurgan's posts.

It was eventually used to describe the action of anyone posting a really long message, and since I probably have done more of those than anyone on JKII.Net since its birth, I've taken the title up as my own.

I would be honored, however, to share that title with Kurgan. He still has it. ;)

I'm a self-proclaimed Force Long Post Master, but plenty of other people are strong in that particular Force power. The difference is that I, above all, specialize in it. ;)

OMG that was funny!

Later Simon Jeffery mentioned it in an interview. He was scared, the forums were a bit nasty the days just after the game was canned

Yep force long post was born as Krayt says
