S1DC Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 They are a pain (especialy at school). Why on earth use ads that block the right hand side of the screen? Although i can't say i'm complaining when the ad with the maxim magazine shows up...

edlib Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 Solutions provided in this thread. Won't help you much if you're working from a school computer though. Especially not a Mac (I think you said that's what you were using at school.) I post from my Mac at work sometimes, and I have yet to find a way to effectively block ads on it. Worse,.. some of the pages here look really weird on the Mac browsers. You can always configure the browser to not show images and animations, and to shut down all JAVA scripts. That would kill all the ads. It would make the web a text-only experience though. That wouldn't be too bad if all you want to do is post.

Rogue-for-Higher Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 I here ya edlib I use macs at school and the adds appeir right over the place that you type your post on. The only solution I can think of for this problem is to type you post on a word prossessing program and cut & paste.
