Rebel Loyaltist
I was making an almost complete of all the Allies and Axis. I came to a fork in the road with these countries. Austria Burma Iceland Portugal Salvador Slovakia Spain Sweden I normally think these countries were Allies but hey I found out Finland was Axis so.... Also by Salvador do they mean El Salvador cuz I know they were Allies. And finally would the Slovakian Army be Axis? I know Slovakia was part of Czecheslovokia at the time but I read something about the The Slovakian people rallying behind German and sending their army to with with German. Taarkin
It would be pretty hard for Austria and Slovakia to be Allies when they were under German occupation.
Nute Gunray
Austria --non-existant, part of Germany Burma --non-existant. I believe it was part of French Indochina Iceland --Allied Portugal --Neutral I think Salvador --Probably non-existant Slovakia --non-existant. Czechoslovkia, however, was part of Germany Spain --Neutral, but Allied affiliated through the Soviet Union Sweden --Neutral, some Axis sympathetic civilians When WWII broke out, Austria and Czechoslovakia were already part of Germany legally and therefore weren't occupied. Austria joined of their own volition and Czechoslovakia was handed over to Germany by the British and French.

Taarkin
About right in the middle, unless you count the Pacific theater.
Nute Gunray
I wasn't sure where Burma fell. I didn't know where India ended and French Indochina began. There's actually a longer list of Allies and Axis. I will see if I can find it. Unfortunately it's in a book so I'll have to type it. Argentina was Axis and I THINK Brazil was Allied. Italy was allied after 1944.

Nute Gunray
The Russians lost the war in the Karelia region against Finland in 1940. Rent the movie Talvistolva (The Winter War). It's quite accurate regarding that war and is also extra-gory. Here is an American built Brewster Buffalo that few for Finland in WWII: <img src="http://maki.simplenet.com/cgm/aviation/hm671.jpg"> ANYTHING LOOK FAMILAR?? Zoom Rabbit
Reminds me of the Bee Gee racer. I used to have a toy one when I was a kid. On many a bored afternoon, the two of us would go ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOM--! Then one day: *CRASH!* Aaah, the lost toys of childhood...

Zoom Rabbit
Important insight into Nute Gunray's psyche: he is the last kid in America to read bound encyclopedias in book form! Everyone else--www.britannica.com. Don't feel bad...I was the last kid in America to have a forty-five collection (and we ain't talking guns, either.) Nute Gunray
It's an old encyclopedia that was published in 1955 nnd has this huge WWII section, as it was the ten anniversary of the end of the war.
Kylilin
I used to read my dad's old encyclopedia Britannicas from the 1960's when I was a wee lad, does that make me weird or something?
Zoom Rabbit
I used to have a vintage set of Britannicas, too! I think we're on to something. If it was the glue in the binding that made us all whack-o, we could sue the publishers...

Zoom Rabbit
Then why was Argentina still in existance at the end of the war? Heck, if Italy had been next door to the United States, there wouldn't be anything bigger than a ground squirrel living there today.
