scabb
LEC is an interesting company. On the one hand, we have the Star Wars game. The Neanderthal. Eventually it will die out, as Star Wars ends, although now it seems to have the upper edge. Then we have the Homus Erectus. The Adventure game. Hopefully, it will grow stronger. Then it shall rule the world and type pointless things on Bulletin boards. Anyway, that's not the point. What I want to know is, why haven't LEC haven't pumped these two creatures full of alchohol, dimmed the lights and switched on some Barry White. What about a Star Wars adventure game? It could happen. That stupid screen shot that everyone is going rabid over may even be a Star Wars one. It could work. It worked for Henry (I think he prefers the dogs name though). Anyway, that's my two cents. The offspring may turn out to be hideously deformed, or it may be a blessing that brings peace and prosperity between the SW and the adventure crowd, bringing a happy, dancing, song-singing future for us all. But, then again, at the end of the day when you're ready to shut your eyes and drift away, do you really give a (Please excuse my French*) Damn? *Not a racist comment
Schmatz
too late... we already found out that the image isn't Star Wars (actually, it's just unrecognizable, so it could be Star Wars) but it's probably for Gladius.
elTee
I've never understood this. When I first got onto the internet, when I still had a compuserve email address that said '1212312@compuserve.com' kinda thing, I emailed the LEC. I asked them to make this game. What a fool I was. Oh well... It would be perfect for the LEC - they would clean up, it would outsell MYST. I mean, if they made it well, then all the magazines would do a Grim Fandango on it and give it 96% scores, and that would make the sad gamer who buys all his games from what he reads in a magazine buy it. However, the serious gamer (us, people) would love it as an adventure game. Many of us here are Star Wars fans too - I know I am. Finally, the Star Wars fans will buy it, regardless of how good it is. Net result - loadsa money, great game. The only reason I can think of for not making it is that they don't want to risk making a mess of the game, as it will surely be the most hyped game ever. Lord Savage
I believe it was in a gamespot interview with Hal Barwood (Indiana Jones and Fate of Atlantis, Infernal machine), Tim Scheafer (DOTT, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango) and Larry Holland (X-Wing, Tie-Fighter) that Hal came out and said that he pitched an idea for a 3-D Star Wars Graphic Adventure to management but, they had to turn him down because the company had already commited to Grim Fandango and couldn't afford to do two graphic adventures at the same time. If any one is interested in reading this interview, I'll see if I can dig up the link to it
Remi
I remember that article too. It was very interesting, and included interviews with Tim Schafer and Lawrence Holland also. Great stuff.
