The Seeker Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 I think it looks kind of cool, but want some other views before I blow $7.00. So, is it an incredible, great, okay, bad, or don't waste $7.00 on this piece of crap, kind of movie? Just so you know, I liked the movie X-Men even though I don't read comics, so if it's a good movie, I'll see it. And, if you could, please let me know why you liked/disliked it without saying only that "IT ROCKED!!!!!" or "IT SUCKED!!!!" Thanks.
Cracked Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 I haven't seen it yet, but some of my friends have, and they said it was sweet, but predictable.
Stealth_Shot Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 it is good but yes it is predictable as is any other super hero story... if you know about the history of spiderman from comics then it isvery predictable. it is still worth the money so go and see it
The Seeker Posted May 5, 2002 Author Posted May 5, 2002 Yeah, I figured that if I wanted an intellictually stimulating movie, I wouldn't be asking about Spider Man.
Tetengo Noor Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 I found it to be incredible. IMO the best comic book adaptation of all time. If you liked X-Men, you will drool over the greatness that is Spidey. Sure it's predictable, but the action, drama, comedy makes it all more worthwhile. SEE THIS MOVIE NOW!!!
Ham Yoyo Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 I'm going to ruin every movie your going to watch for the rest of your life. The good guys are going to win.
Waspie Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 I thought Spider-Man was utterly awesome, but quit shimmy-shammying, pony up the seven bucks, and decide for yourself. =)
acdcfanbill Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 this is the anything goes (well, almost) forum... and spidy was awesome, sam rami is one of my faves of directors... the ending was perfect, he handled the identity situation perfectly, or, well, the writer did anyway.. i defently reccomend it !!!!
cqdemal Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Spider-Man's the best superhero flick ever, period. Sadly, I doubt if there's any material left for the drama aspect of the two upcoming sequels...
acdcfanbill Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 bahh, plenty, and plenty of villians aswell... oh, and hopefully plenty of stuntmen also...
cqdemal Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Well, forget that. Drama or no drama, the $$$ will still flow into their coffers.
The Seeker Posted May 5, 2002 Author Posted May 5, 2002 'k thanks guys, now, I'm definately gonna see it. Just have to figure out when.
Caldera Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 THE WEB COMES OUT OF HIS WRISTS!!! HIS DAMNED WRISTS!!! NO NOT WEBSHOOTERS!! OUT OF HIS DAMNED VEINS!!! AARRGG!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY... other than that it was a great movie... i think i need a nap.
Vestril Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 No drama left for the upcoming sequels???? You don't know Spider-Man. This movie did a great job of staying true to the feel of the comics.
GeneralLee Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 It was not as good as all these people say, but it was above average. If you're a hardcore spiderman fan you'll have some problems... no webshooters... no radioactive beam... and way too much matrix dodging stuff. AND WHY DIDN'T IT HAVE THE SPIDERMAN THEME SONG?!!!!
RabidPlatypus Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 I thought it coming out of his wrists was cooler than having webshoooters.... You don't actually expect them to put those impossible to make devices in a seemingly serious movie do you?
Vestril Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 It was not as good as all these people say, but it was above average. If you're a hardcore spiderman fan you'll have some problems... no webshooters... no radioactive beam... and way too much matrix dodging stuff. AND WHY DIDN'T IT HAVE THE SPIDERMAN THEME SONG?!!!! The lack of webshooters made it so that they didn't have to address the question: how in the heck does a kid with no money afford these chemical supplies??? I mean the ESU connection only takes you so far... Real hardcore fans will accept that they did a great job of keeping the story Spider-Manish, the only thing I missed was his wisecracking, there was like half a joke in there...but other than that the whole thing was very well done!!
Pedantic Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 So if I didn't like X-Men, would I not like Spider-Man?
Reb Starblazer Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 Also, for anyone who is interested, a new spiderman animated series is in the works for the upcoming fall season. You know the CGI scenes like whenever he's swinging, well, that's what it's going to be, a totally CGI series. Sounds pretty sweet if you ask me. AND, it is going to be continuous with the movie, taking place in this new spiderman "world" if you will.
acdcfanbill Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 speaking of CGI tvshows, there is supposed to be a new TMNT CGI show or movie, i foget...
