Ummm... they were made. They were played. Much fun was had.

Sequal to Sam n Max is (apparently) in the works.

But just be happy they were made at all.

We go on and on to the rythm.

Never mind what happened to the classics... what happened to my post? I wrote a message here yesterday and now it's disapeared. I don't think there was any offensive stuff on it. So is it possible it was lost due to this server move, or am I just crazy?

Harsh? Maybe. I think everyone's baffled as to what the underlying assumption of your question is. Every (or most every) question (and I realize this is probably a strange concept to most people) has an assumption of some kind behind it. For example, 'What does X taste like?' assumes that X is something a person is likely to eat or at least stick in their mouth. Now, if someone were to ask 'What does jazz taste like?' you'd probably react is much the same way that people are reacting to your question.

He's saying that NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE OLD CLASSICS!! They still exist. They have not been forgotten. They are still available on the LucasArts website, and in various re-releases throughout Europe. What we want to know is what do you think happened to them?

You're just assuming that they're not selling! Did you go down and take a look in thier warehouse? If you did, then I apologise. If, however, you did not, then I suggest you actually find out about the sales before jumping to conclusions.

Maybe you won't hear any "youngin's" talking about Loom, but its not as if they're not talking about it because LucasArts have prevented them from doing so. The "youngin's" can still buy Loom if they want, but they don't want to. Thats not because Loom is bad, or because it is unavailable, its because its an old game. People generally tend to avoid older games, as they:

a) might not run on thier machine

b) have worse graphics

c) poor sound

d) the magazine just gave the new Tomb Raider 10/10, so that must be better

So, in summary: Nothing has happened to the Classic Adventures, they just aren't as popular with the mass market due to thier age.

NO!! You can say "what happened to Lure of the Temptress?" because, as with some (SOME) of the old LucasArts games it isn't popular anymore due to its age. So whats the difference? Well, you can't STILL BUY Lure of the Temptress, but all the LEC games are still available.

I'm not arguing whether or not its dead; the simple fact is if PC Gamer published an article about "Brilliant Games From the Past" and Loom and Lure of the Temptress were equal first, then anyone with half a brain who might want to investigate the playability of these games for theirself could buy Loom within an hour from the original supplier, ie. LucasArts. They'd have to trawl through Ebay and second hand games shops if they wanted Lure of the Temptress.
