Warcraft 3

Recommended Posts

well basically warcraft 3 is like starcraft gone medieval.......it is very very similar to starcraft. However, every single race is pretty much equal if you know how to play them. So far I like the orcs the most, but I have et to play as night elves. Also, you cang et heroes in this game.....these heroes are like diablo characters; you can level them up and equip them with items. When you do this they become more powerful ::gasp::. This game is just a lot of fun and has great graphics........you guys should get it....and koffin, dungeonsiege is a good game, but i'm kinda tired of that style of game. particularly with all the cheaters out there.

Somehow I missed this game's release.. I always thought it looked like Warcraft II, done with the "Gauntlet Legends" engine, but still interesting. ; )

I vowed never to play the "leaked beta" or any crap like that. So it's out now, huh? 'bout time, hope it was worth the wait!

Never was a Warcraft fan (never owned a copy of any of the Warcraft games either :D ), but I'm seriously concidering buying Warcraft III. :)

Just not sure if my comp is up to it, and I know I don't have space on the harddrive for it. It's so packed and messy in there at the mo that I will wait till I get a new one (my sisters fault, you should see her room :D ).

Greg, you liked Starcraft and yet you dislike Warcraft 3?

I loved all the Warcraft/Starcraft games (I haven't got WC3 yet due to a severe lack of money) because they were very similar, well thought out and you could see noticeable advances between the releases in gameplay.(unlike C&C, RA, TS and RA2).

What don't you like about it?

Yeah, after an intense week of gameplay I have decided that warcraft 3 gets a 7.5. The game itself is awesome adn deserves better, but the game seems to be too rush-oriented online. It just destroys the strategy aspect in my mind, cause anyone can pump out basic units and clear out a base. It takes planing to win a real game.

i'ma have 2 disagree w/most of u...i got the game, & if i had paid for it, it would've been a waste of my money (fortunately, a friend cracked it for me 8^P)...the game has little improvement on the origiinal game, which only was fun in the novelty of playing as orcs...the game requires minimal strategy, and because it has two new races & 3d graphix, it's become all the rage...the new races are interesting, but not too creative...they are based on starcraft races (the undead & night elves are both based upon zerg and protoss concepts), and the 3d effects have minimal value, because you cannot manipulate the view in any beneficial way...Blizzard would have been better off rendering really good images instead of making a useless 3d interface...i mean really - you can't even play the game from the angles it allows you to temporarily switch to...what's up w/making an angle turning key but not being able to lock it?

Warcraft III is nothing but hype built upon Blizzard's dying reputation (but with all honesty, i can't wait for the warcraft rpg they're makin).

argue w/me, i enjoy it ;)

Same here Wraith. I heard it was mostly oriented toward hero units and the population limit is 90 due to high HP for units. I wish the HP could lower so the population limit would go up in that case. Besides, I got JKII along with Dark Forces instead of WCIII. I'll wait and see how good the game is support and such and it a population limit is increased to at least 150 and such.
