it's pretty sweet indeed it tells everything about him even his traing regiment. That book which you are referring to takes place after ESB and B4 ROTJ but i don't know the name of it exactly, my cousin has read it he said it was pretty good.

I'm a "half-EU" fan. Some of it is good, some is terrible. I've heard that they've made Luke into a sissy intead of the most powerful Jedi, and the Solo kids always save the day, no matter what.

Anyway, on novels, I recommend the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command.) If you're into flying and X-wings, you should definitely try Micheal Stackpole's X-wing series.

For comics, I recommend Dark Empire, just because so much of the EU uses it, Tales of the Jedi, and definitely Star Wars Tales. That series is so cool. It's kind of a filler for things that take place in between the movies and stuf. For example, Vader's thoughts when he saw 3PO in ESB. A duel between Vader and a clone of Darth Maul. A conversation between Obi-Wan and Han Solo on the Milenium Falcon before reaching (the remains of) Alderaan.

The only SW book I can really recommend is Splinter of the Mind's Eye. It was published in 1978, the year after A New Hope came out. This takes place between ANH and ESB and there are no preconceptions. Vader's amazingly powerful, Obi-Wan posesses Luke to help him defeat Vader and Leia weilds a lightsaber. Very imaginative book, the Force is truely powerful and it has the mythic elements that make the movies what they are and what the other books lack.

I like most of the comics, though, except for Dark Force Rising. DFR is the most boring of Zahn's books and it also has the worst art of any SW comic I've seen... reading it is like having your teeth drilled. The best comics are the Tales of the Jedi, again they have very mythical elements, good stories... the art is a little crude, but not bad. They tell the story of what happened in Star Wars ancient history.
