rogue518 Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 November 12th, now this is really good news! Sincerely, rogue518
Admiral Odin Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 even better. LOTR, Fellowship of the Ring is out tuesday, and I have a reserved copy.
edlib Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 I'm waiting on LotRs DVD. There's going to be a second DVD release in the fall that has the cut scenes restored and ALL the behind the scenes stuff... Like 4 disks worth. I'll rent or borrow the other one in the meantime.
Admiral Odin Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 my parents bought this one for me. So I'll probably get the other one on my own.
Zargon Posted August 5, 2002 Posted August 5, 2002 I am getting Super Troopers on Tuesday, and picking up Lotr also, it was aight, but I must say I really have seen better.............but man the graphics, *sheesh* so badass oh yeah, and resident evil also
Taarkin Posted August 5, 2002 Posted August 5, 2002 Originally posted by Zargon oh yeah, and resident evil also Considering I usually hate music, I was suprised by how much I liked RE's, especially at the very end
KNIGHT_FEDAYKIN Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 i think LOTR are taking the piss with the number of different versions they are releasing, what advantage is there to buying the 2 disc apart from it being out earlier and why can't they release the 4 disc one at the same time?
edlib Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 I dunno, some marketing crap I guess... The 4- and 5-disk sets released later are really only going to appeal to the über-geeks like myself who get off on Tolkien trivia and behind-the-scenes-making-of minutiae anyway. The average film goers who never read the books 40 or 50 times but liked the film anyway will probably be OK with the 2-disk set.
Admiral Odin Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 I'm definatly buying the 4 disc set. Funny thing happened. Picked up the widescreen version of Lotr. Went to watch it, and I saw the full screen version. Someone made a big mistake. Went to exchange it to find out that 4 cases were like that. Each case holding 144 dvds.
Rogue Nine Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 The marketing people are shrewd bastards. They know that people will go buy the DVD as it comes out this August, then shell out even more money for the 4-disc set later on. Bastards.
Jem Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 I for sure will definately not buy it. It would be like flushing money down the toilet... *Prepares to face mob of Enraged Maniacal Star Wars Psycho-Fans* "Come get some..."
Rogue9 Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 more important than AOTC...but just barely is that I managed to get my copy of LOTR the instant the store opened on tuesday, though I took the day off to do that. something I won't even do for Star Wars.
Jem Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Originally posted by Admiral the chase begins. Keep on trying, I now have the flag! BTW That's some Lousy aiming Admiral...
Thrawn Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 I'll buy LOTR in a little while, once the second or third shipment comes in. However, DVD was MADE for Episode II. An all digital transfer, with all the color and sound, wow! It makes me drool. Speaking of which, time to go get a napkin...
