definitely, lol

These are like Star Wars, Fellowship of the Ring is like A New Hope, The Two Towers is like The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the King is like Return of theJedi or vice versa (LOTR is older than SW) lol

I can agree with RP on that. Though sometimes if you are a huge fan sometimes the movie may suck too. It is a good thing that this isn't that kind of movies.

:)

This was started a long time ago. The hobbit was first written by Tolken's father. Tolken was the one who got the book sent in to be published.

LotR was written by Tolken. The Publisher of the LOTR died this year days after an interview(Which can be found on the DVD).

The Silmarillion was the last book writen by Tolken.

Thank god someone made this thread! Bless you Arkum!

Ok, I've read The Hobbit, I found it easy to read and very entertaining - straight to the point and a good story.

But ok, I admit to being an ignorant heretic: I never got very far with LOTR, I stopped reading the first book about a 120 pages in it...

It was boring to read, and I never felt motivated to to read any further.... Sooooo heavy.

Yeah, I stopped for a while in Fellowship, it was getting boring. Then I started up again, and the book was pretty good. not great, but exceptional. Then The Two Towers REALLY got me to become a fan of LOTR. That was a GREAT book.
