Pad
hey ppl, im planning on reading some star wars books, but there r so many i dont know which 1 to pick so which book should i read???
Reb Starblazer
I recommend "Shadows of the Empire", "I, Jedi" and "Dark Empire" parts one and two. I hear they're really good. If you wanna catch up on the current stuff, there's "The New Jedi Order", which starts with a book called Vector Prime. Some people love this series, some people hate it, so I guess you should use your own discretion.

Clem
The x wing series (which i, jedi is sorta a part of) is GREAT! all 9 of em
NerfYoda
I reccomend reading all books in the order in which they were written. I havent been toooo terribly dissapointed by any of em yet. Shadows of the Empire set during the original trology & features lots of cool Darth Vader stuff I, Jedi is set way after ROTJ & is about a former XWing pilot's way of becoming a Jedi.. its a damn fine book. I forget what Dark Empire is about hehe. Wasn't that a comic book? Officially I love the NJO series. It really breaks the same old star wars book mold. Anyone like the latest one, Traitor? Reb Starblazer
Well, "Shadows of the Empire" takes place between "The Empire Strikes Back" and the "Return of the Jedi". It involves a smuggler named Dash Rendar, and all the Star Wars gang. Really good. "I, Jedi", is about the training and life of a Jedi Knight named Corran Horn. I don't really know much about this book, but plenty of people seem to like it. "Dark Empire" takes place after "Return of the Jedi". Emperor Palpatine has returned, in a clone body, more powerful than ever. He's trying to re-establish the Empire, and in order to defeat him, Luke just may have to join him... "The New Jedi Order" is about the invasion of the Star Wars galaxy by an enemy even more dangerous than the Empire. They're making their way across the galaxy, conquering and ravaging as they go. The Jedi may be the only ones who can stop them, but are unsure if even they can do so. EDIT: it appears nerfyoda beat me to it, but I'll leave this post here, because he didn't go into much depth about Dark Empire. Yes, it was a comic, but has since been turned into two paperback novels. Just so you know though, I haven't read "Traitor", I've seen some excerpts from it, and I know all about the story. One cool thingabout "Traitor", is that the way their discussing the Force in it, is the same perception I've had on the nature of the Force for a long time, before I'd ever heard of EU. In truth, I've never even read an EU book:D

Forinec
I'm reading Truce at Bakura . It's where these aliens (Ssi-Ruuk) come and attempt to enslave human souls in their battle droids and conquer the Core Worlds. It's interesting.

Darth Talliusc
ive read almost every single SW book *notice i didnt say comic*. the best ones are written by michael stackpole, aaron allston, timothy zahn. these include the x-wing series which ROCKED. the thrawn trilogy and duology. and some of the NJO was amazing too. alot of the filler stuff couldve been done better but they are all worth the read. if you want a complete title list with chronology go to a bookstore. pick up the newest SW book (probably Traitor which i loved) and flip forward a few pages. it will show the galaxy of SW and then show the comprehensive title list, stating the date before/after the battle of yavin. you have just entered a world that will astound and amaze you. enjoy!
