Elijah Posted September 11, 2002 Posted September 11, 2002 I've had XP for a long wile now (sence it came out) and i just formatted my HD... well i get a little message telling me i cannot activeate windows becuse my CD Key has been used to meny times... now sence i've had XP i have formatted a large number of times... Is this microsofts trick to get you to but another copy?
Old_Ben Posted September 11, 2002 Posted September 11, 2002 No I think it's to stop from getting you to burn a copy of the cd and giving the key away. This probably happens a lot, and it's the only way they can protect against it.
