Darth Talliusc Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 to put it shortly: my disc wont install anymore, it freezes up at 2% (the assets1.pk3) i left it for 4 hours and it was still stuck on 2%. the game runs still on my other comp but thats not the comp i want to play it on. anybody have any advice besides clean the cd?
gorganfloss Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 My Baldurs Gate disc does that too...I could also use that info...
Sivy Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 yes, buy another one, swap the cd then take it back saying someone bought it for you as a present but you have it already
Sivy Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 Originally posted by gorganfloss lol nice solution SivyB. it works too, done it a couple of times, once when a friend borrowed a dvd and it came back with a big scratch in it.

GonkH8er Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 if youve got yourn receipt, take it back. he honest with them.... say its munted.... they should replace it if its not all scratched and stuff honesty usually works, especially at eb. otherwise, find someone else with it... and see if theirs works. if not, then it may be your system
Jedi Spy Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 hm well this problem happened to my friend with his mechcommander cd. But we tried it on my machine and it worked fine ;/ i dont really know what happened
Dath Maximus Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 that happened to me the other day. i took the cd out, whiped the bottom off, and blew some dust off the cd tray. works now
Kurgan Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 I hate to say it, but other than blowing on your disc tray, cleaning the disc is probably the cheapest and easiest solution.
Darth Talliusc Posted September 18, 2002 Author Posted September 18, 2002 its got a few scratches. thats probably the problem. sigh. well i dont know where you come from but the EB near me is full of dishonest %^#%^#@^ers. when i bought smash bros melee for GC the guy told me i didnt even need a receipt to return it. when i came back they wouldnt exchange it because i didnt have a receipt. i asked "what? the other guy said you had it in your computer filing system". they screwed over several of my friends as well. well so as to NOT turn this into an EB thrashing thread. i dont actually know anybody who still has their JO cd. (most sold it and bought wc3 which i also play). guess ill just wait till the pricedrops to under 50$ and buy another copy. thanks anyways all.
