matt--
Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale are the two unofficial James Bond movies. So, you really can't compare them. I love them all and this new one looks ass-kick-tastic
acdcfanbill
You didnt like license to kill?! but.. Timothy Dalton is great as bond, most like the book char. well I like them anyway...
Darth Groovy
It didn't have anything to do with Timothy Dalton. Living Daylights was actually pretty decent. I just thought that License to Kill was very underwhelming for a James Bond Film.
matt--
I'd have to say my least favorite had to be On Her Majesty's Secret Service. George Lazenby just wasn't a good Bond imo.
acdcfanbill
Lazenby was just a victem of the script, OHMSS was a hard part to play, James Bond crying?!? So it wasnt completely his fault...
Darth Groovy
I must agree, emotion does not fit the Bond character that most people have come to know and love. The only time I have ever seen this done well was in Goldeneye. Pierce Brosnan has had alot to add to the character and the franchise. The sad thing is, who will be able to carry on once he retires? acdcfanbill
Oh, they will find someone, they might make one or two non-blockbusters, but there will be another one. I love John Cleese and all, but dont you think they could have gotten a different actor who was younger and would have been around longer with the series

When you look back at the first Bond, and how Mr. Llewellyn looked back then, they should have gone for someone younger if they intend to keep the franchise going. Mind you, it does raise the other issue of age...Bond himself. Realistically, he should be well into his 60's if not 70's, and pretty much incapable of all the stuff he's doing. Is it time for James Bond to retire altogether? And to recruit a new, younger 007 with a new name? If the Bond franchise goes on for another 40 years he'd be over 100... So, are Bond's days numbered? Or are they just going to clone him?
acdcfanbill
Well, just because it takes them 3 years to make one doesnt mean that he has 3 years between adventures, perhaps he has an adventure every month or so the Bond timeline is relation to Real Life is a lot slower... well, anyway if they do get a young version of him, im ok with that, as long as its not some new upstart kid like leo, or affleck or some of those teen hearthrob type guys.
