Bet they blame the games.

Recommended Posts

Of course they are going to blame games. So called parent or content groups are always looking for scapegoats which is what gets this going

They may as well blame every crime that is remotely close to content from a game on video games and be done with it. I am personally tired of seeing it

Well, that may be a death attributed to games...well maybe moreso stupidity....but it doesn't stop there. The Washington Sniper is now being attributed to video games. I swear the world is always looking for a scapegoat.....

Yeah, I saw that on the fox news channel the other day.......this so called "expert" who had written a book was saying that same thing.........

Heard a story of a guy on DAoC in the USA, who was so engaged in an rvr battle that he messed himself at the keyboard, so as to not miss out or get killed!!!!!!!!!!

This kinda thing is common in other circles, the Casino industry sees it often.........Casino carpets in the USA and back home (new zealand) have to be changed very often because asian gamers are so fanatical and supersticious about luck, that when on a lucky streak, they will often excrete on the floor where they sit so as not to have to move and lose their "lucky" seat (im not a racist, i used to work in the industry and this is fact im afraid).

Also recall an incident while playing DAoC, where our druid (healy dude) went afk, came back saying that he was babysitting his sister and she had sliced her hand open while making a sandwich. We all said we were sorry to hear it, he apologised and just before logging off to take her to the hospital our groups champion (fighter type) told him, and i quote..........

Champ: "You cant just leave us! Let her drive herself to hospital ffs!"

Druid: "Shes only 14, gotta go guys, shes turning white :("

Champ: "Selfish ****ing b***h!!!!!"

Some people simply get carried away, and forget that there is a real world (RL as they call it). People with weak personalities (incoming psychobabble WARNING!!!), are easily influenced by this kind of media unfortunately. Im afraid that it IS realistic to blame violence on computer games even more so than TV, as these games are imersive and interactive, in that they engage the person participating more so than a simply movie.
