Episode III cast

Count Dooku 2

Recommended Posts

No, this is not a cast list for the new Star Wars film, but merely a question:

How many of you think that George Lucas will introduce a load of new characters for Episode III, or will he stick with the basic people like Palpatine, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Dooku, Padme and the others?

Also (sub-question heading your way): who here thinks that Han Solo and Chewbacca will appear in Episode III? I don't think they should, and that anyone like Han, Lando or Greedo should be left until Episode IV (I know Greedo is in a deleted scene from Episode I, but that doesn't really count...).

Your views?

well he'll definitely stick with the main characters, unless, god forbid, something should happen to one of them. As for cameos, Rick McCullam said there wouldn’t be, but we all know that George Lucas like to surprise us so it might happen.

I think it will have the main cast of characters (duh?).......I don't think we'll see Han and/or Chewy. I also think that GL will want to surprise us.......but before the moive is released, the community around here will know most of the surprises (they always seem to anyways). :D

I think it would be kinda neat to see a younger Grand Moff Tarkin, maybe have him just hanging out with Palpatine in a scene.

And I really hope there are no han/chewie/lando cameos. It would be kinda silly watching toddler han and toddler lando playing cards or something.

Remember, though:

Count Dooku has the plans for the Death Star, and the Geonosians developed them in that big underground control room. I think the Geonosians will built the Death Star in secret, with Dooku overlooking the project, and then deliver it to Palpatine who will then place Tarkin in command. The Tarkin/Maw/Bevel Lemelisk idea is EU after all (and it sucks).

The Emperor wanted a super-weapon, something to enforce his might across the galaxy. He asked top ship designer Bevel Lemelisk and Imperial commander Grand Moff Tarkin to create such a weapon, and the pair went to the Maw Instillation (deep inside the uncharted reigions of the galaxy). They came up with the "Death Star", a custom-built battle station capable of destroying a planet in a single shot. A prototype Death Star was constructed, which was basically a wire frame with a super-laser weapon, and test-fired it. When it worked, they left the prototype hanging in space and built the final Death Star: the one which Tarkin would command.

Years after the Battle of Endor, the Rebels found the prototype Death Star and did something with it... I can't remember what.

thanks for the info.

yeah, i agree thats not as good as what is suggested by episode 2. i was totally not expecting the deathstar to be mentioned at all during episode 2, it hadnt entered my mind, it was so cool.

you know heaps of EU stuff, keep in mind when reading my posts that all my starwars knowledge comes from the movies only :)

i have read episode 1 the book, and i have the episode 2 visual reference guide, and the artwork/design of episode 1 book. thats it.

I like EU......i've read around 60 books or so.....but i'm also a firm believer that all movie discussions should keep EU out.

I don't think the geonosians will build the deathstar, personally. First, geonosis will be a "hot spot" in the galaxy, since it's where the clone wars began. Everyone will keep a close eye on it, making it nearly impossible for them to build anything even remotely as big as a deathstar. Secondly, they no longer have the plans for it. Dooku took them to Coruscant. Third, we know that they were doing work on it in episode 4 because it was not fully operational at the beginning of the movie.

Firstly, the Jedi left Geonosis in ruins. They didn't know about the secret underground control rooms, and the Geonosians remained there until the Jedi had left with the Clone Army. Remember Poggle the Lesser: "We will go into hiding."

Secondly, Dooku only took a copy of the plans in his small holographic palm readout. Look in the large viewscreen behind Dooku as he leaves: the Death Star plans are still in the Geonosians computer system.

Thirdly, the Death Star may not have been operational, but what does this prove? All the Geonosians needed to do was install thrusters and wave goodbye to the battle station. Plus, it takes quite a few hours to charge up the super-laser aboard the Death Star: the Imperials could have left Geonosis, began to charge up the laser cannon on their journey, and then used the term "Fully Operational" to mean that the super-laser was ready to go.

I'm not trying to tell you all what happens in Episode III, because I don't know what happens, but this could be a reasonable explanation as to why Dooku and the Geonosians have the battle station plans.

I'd like to hope we'll get to see cool characters like Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti and others again in Episode III. (Especially Aayla! :D )

I wouldn't miss Jar Jar Binks if he wasn't in it. And I think it'd be a little too far fetched to put Han Solo, Chewbacca or Lando in them.

I think Bail Organa is going to play a large role in SW3... we saw a little bit of him in SW2, but nothing to really indicate why the heck Obi-Wan would choose this guy to keep Padme and Leia. Bail will need to be established as a supporter of the Republic (as opposed to a supporter of Palpatine), a valliant warhero in the Clone Wars, and a friend to Obi-Wan. I really hope that Alderaan will be the site of the final battle in the Clone Wars.

Alderaan? No, I don't think so.

Remember, the Jedi Knights live on Coruscant: Palpatine needs to wipe out all the Jedi, and he will probably never leave Coruscant, so I think the big, all-smashing, all blasting final battle will take place on...

... you guessed it: Naboo.

Oh, sorry! Coruscant.

Ya the most pivotal planet is Corruscant. We will see Alderaan of course its such an important planet. But if the big battle of the war took place there then why would anyone want to bring a newborn princess and a former queen with a hit out for her to such a hot spot? Bail Organa will be a major character in ep3 no doubt.

It would be like the final battle of the Civil War taking place in Washington D.C. I don't think there's any way that the Sepratist movement could hack their way to Coruscant itself (though it would be cool to see Coruscant's defenses in action). I say it'll take place on Alderaan because:

a) It's pivotal to the OT--its experience in the Clone Wars was the reason why Alderaan was completely defenseless to the Death Star. Alderaan was one of the most heartbreaking victims of the Clone Wars. "They have no weapons".

b) It will provide more drama to Alderaan's destruction in the OT.

c) Since Bail Organa was ruler of Alderaan, and Obi-Wan was a general under him, Obi-Wan must have been fighting on Alderaan. And with Obi-Wan must be Anakin. Therefore, you have the two main characters playing important roles on Alderaan. I think we have to see that.

But if the big battle of the war took place there then why would anyone want to bring a newborn princess and a former queen with a hit out for her to such a hot spot?

There's going to be a big battle on Alderaan no matter what, whether it's on screen or off screen. Your question is valid, and one of the reasons why I think we will see Alderaan as the scene of the last battle of the Clone Wars.
