Phizzle
Not violent enough. Sure SOF2 had brains, guts, bones and gore, but that's not enough. The violence has to be used properly though.
Taos
Great topic man, Welcome to Lucas Forums.com!!!! Ok, to the question at hand here........I don't think so. Why, I can't say for sure.....except to say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I just think they could be worse....I hope it doesn't get that way though. We have a rating system to "protect" the young ones here....let's just hope that it is doing its job..... *putting on fire resistant suit for this topic* ^_^
MaulerZ
depends on who you ask if you ask me I say no because gore just hasnt been a problem for me I never have to urge to frag some1 in real life.........
Guest Jed
Well, yes and no. Yes in the fact that some games are just so blatantly violent they're no point, to the point where it's not realistically possible for something to be that violent. Albeit, I can't think of a game that meets this requirement, I know they're out there. But for the most part, no. Videogames are mostly stories, and the only reason violence is included is if the story requires it. For example, games like SOCOM aren't really that violent; people who try to keep kids from playing this really just don't want the idea of guns going into young minds. But there's nothing wrong with the game; it has a point, plot, and I may add, is a great game. Violence in video games isn't responsible for anything; it's there, it's not bad, but it will continue to be blamed for violence in real life because some people can't tell the difference between a game and real life. My opinion.
Skate Boy
I think it depends on the game, some are just too violent cause they have no point *cough*state of emergency *cough* but most games are not too violent IMO.
TheHobGoblin
No. But I would say both no and yes becuase games are all diffrent. Quake 3 got alot of gore but JKII dont (not much really just for slicing body parts but its cool)
Guest Jed
Hiya HobGoblin! *gives him Jedi220 potato chips* Good stuff... But to the topic, I agree with what has said so far. Thanx for bringing up that game rskateboy, I forgot about that game....State of Emergency....violence to the extreme, and pointless as well. gorganfloss
Well, thats a tough one. Yes because some games are good enough without all the violence. No because some games need the fun boost of some violence. And then there are the games that just dont have enough violence. FPS war games, Barney games, RPG's, etc. etc. Im too lazy to go into detail.

C Shutt
I'm bored with violent video games. I'd like to see a return to games like Tapper, which promote alcoholism instead.
Professor Snape
who really cares if they show blood and guts. It does make it better. All this censorship ain't really needed cuz everyone alrdy knows about it. Like every1 alrdy knows about sex. Everyone alrdy knows curses. So y can't it be violent. I say not enough of it
Darklighter
Video games are not too violent. Yes they are violent, but not violent enough to conjure up the controversy it is causing. In this day and age, people take these matters too seriously. We are living in a time when it is acceptable to market these kind of products, games and film, and things are only getting worse. It would be futile to try and stop it (banning games and such) simply because in the end, people will agree that it is what they want.
-s/<itzo-
To some extent games are violent. it all depends on how you look at it. it has more impact on younger kids. Young children do not process information in the same way as adults. Nor do they have the experience or judgment to evaluate what they see. That's why they blame child violence on TV but they don't for adults.
