Breton
just like EVERY land animal on this earth, they always pose a potential threat to human life So you think we should kill all land animals on earth, just because they could pose a threat to a human life? And also, guns pose a much larger threat to human lifes than wild animals, doesn't it? , what am i supposed to do if i see a 6 ft. mountain lion looking around my house at night, and there are little kids next door, just say "oh don't go outside, there's a mountain lion" and let it walk away? no, i'll get into a confrontation with it (where i'm safe and provoking it) until a family member can get a gun and i can say "bye" and blow it away because animal control won't get here fast enough But if you keep guns because of all the wild, dangerous animals, as you say, why isn't it possible to use anaesthetic dart guns instead? They would be nearly as effective, it lets the animal live (wich is a good thing, for it can be removed to a national park or something), and it is much, much, much less dangerous to the human lifes. C'jais
Originally posted by acdcfanbill It wasnt anarchy, but it was freedom... Thats what i was refering to, since you can still own guns or speak your mind in our country... And I can also speak my mind in my country, making it just as free. Is the freedom to own guns so central to your country? You got freedom, yes - but so did European countries with time as well. Are you to argue that your country is more free than mine as of now? What WhiteRaider suggested is that only a minimum of laws are needed to run society - I'd rather have the freedom to be able to let the government protect me, than buying weapons to do it myself. The freedom to not need guns.

Breton
At last, I have found the number of people murdered by guns and knifes in Norway. Last year, 15 people got murdered with knife, while 4 people got murdered with a gun. Think about that. 1 gun murder per million people. If that was the situation in US today, then only about 250 people would each year be murdered by guns. Instead, it is over a hundred times more. Lunatic Jedi
I'm all for people having guns... IT INCREASES THE CHANCES OF TWO REDNECKS BLOWING EACHOTHER'S HEADS OFF. After all, there shouldn't be a death penalty for stupidity, but that doesn't mean the problem can't solve itself, right?
