Iynx Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 In the game, what does DFA mean? I hear a lot of people using it, so what does it stand for? -Iynx
SpYzEr Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 DFA = Death From Above (i think?) It refers to the red and yellow specials
Iynx Posted December 15, 2002 Author Posted December 15, 2002 Thanks, that makes sence. Anyone else have any other meanings? -Iynx

Pedantic Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 What I want to know is when did people start calling the yellow finisher a DFA?
teutonicknight Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 I think it was when the 1.03 patch came out... not sure though... just my guess.

SpYzEr Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Originally posted by -s/<itzo- no its actually the red special not yellow. I have heard the yellow special been called DFA on many occasions. Those may have been noobs tho, who knows
-s/<itzo- Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 i haven't played the game in a while but i think the specials were called: DFA (red style special move) Inverted Upslash (yellow style special move) The Lunge (blue style special move) and i'm pretty sure DFA is the red stance special.
Hekx Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Some people call the yellow special a yellow DFA, but I prefer the term 'butterfly' I believe 'DFA' is the red special
Luc Solar Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Here's the deal: First DFA meant the yellow special. Makes more sense imo. For some reason (lack of imagination?) the red special stole the shortening. DFA now usually stands for Death From Above as the red special move. The yellow special has a dozen names (blender, butterfly etc.). I mostly use "Yellow special" or "Medium finisher". Anyways: 99% of the time when someone gets "DFA'ed" -it means the strong stance jumping overhead shop which buries the saber into the ground.
BigTeddyPaul Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 I have also heard people call it th yellow DFA and red DFA to distinguish the two since they both are lethal. However, you can be hit with the yellow butterf;y (that is what I heard/read it called) and still live. The red DFA however is almost always fatal unless you have full health or dodge most of it.
