Surfnshannon
I visit all the forums usually -- I didn't used to but nowadays I like to go visit everyone. I've met so many new people that way! This place is great but we have a lack of threads and people when I visit so when I visit the other forums there are a lot more active threads and they get responded to right away. Artoo
There ya go. Of course, all this takes place in another forum, so I'm afraid you won't go Bless staunch conservatism. You would be correct sir, I don't wana leave my home, cause it's nice here, and I like that. And you should bless staunch conservatism! It's what keeps the nation traditional! Keeps the gays from getting married, keeps the babies from gettig murdered, and it allows such great things such as TAX BREAKS!!! to stimulate the economy, instead of slapping a whole new round of taxing on us. The pros of conservatism of are many, liberalism has a few pros, but they are usually gained through the spending of my money, which isn't good when it can be done without spending my money. BUT... all said and done... to each his own.

To all the people who were about to roll out and swat ShadowTemplar and I on the cloning/abortion debate, now's your chance. You would be correct sir, I don't wana leave my home, cause it's nice here, and I like that... [snip] I was referring to conservatism in general. If there had been no change or revolution the world would have looked far worse off now. Change is bound to happen. And I can prove that.
Artoo
True but you can't be totally liberal either it takes a blance of ideas which I'm willing to accept. I just believe in the conservative side more than the liberal side.

I just believe in the conservative side more than the liberal side. Here's my thought on this: Conservatism is the greatest thing that ever happen to America. We'd be far better off now if we didn't have liberals always screwing things up and wasting all our money. The liberal leadership is a lying, cheating group of individuals who have absolutely no practical ideas and seem only to be able to attack Bush without supplying their own ideas. For instance, they attack Bush's tax cut yet all they can propose is a tax rebate, which is exactly the same thing except it isn't permenant or proportional. Liberals must be checked because if they weren't then we'd all eventually be communists or socialists, where the government controlled everything. Conservative on the other hand, don't naturally require any check because we always want to give control back to the people/business and leave only what's absolutely neccessary in the hands of the government. Note, i'm saying we need a one party system, that could eventually lead to trouble no matter what. But if we had to choose one, i think we'd be a lot safer for a lot longer under conservatism. Also note, i said conservatism, not the Republicans. My loyalty first lies in the issues, then the party, not the other way around. John McCain for example. Grrr.... It's true that change is inevitable, but that doesn't mean anything. Change can be good, but it can also be bad, just ask Russia. They were better off under the tsars than the communists. Oh geez, i've done it again. Let's try not to make this into some huge debate...at least not here anyways. I may hop on over to the dabate forum if you want to continue it there. Maybe. C'jais
I am so not going to discuss American politics... What I reacted against was that you somehow said that non-change is good. Well, it cannot really occur, in the grand scheme of things. Change is indifferent. It's neither good or bad, but it's always there. Hanging on to old, functional systems is alright, but not if there's a better alternative. Originally posted by Tie Guy I may hop on over to the dabate forum if you want to continue it there. Maybe. No, i just didn't want to start something big and get this thread closed like the last one. The thing about change is change happens when change is neccessary. Eventually, inevitably, change will be neccessary, but sometimes change might not know what its getting into. Changes that people think are neccessary sometimes are not, and those people think are right, sometimes are harmful. Does that mean it wasn't neccessary? I can't say, but it matters little, because it changed anyways, and there's no changing change.

It's a new forum with a stricter spam policy. Any idiots entering it are to be told to leave. Haven't happened yet, but I'm ready for the worst. *Locks and loads his rifle* Let's go hunt some spam.
