Natty
Sorry was talking to a friend about Two Towers and basically came up with the fact that Frodo and Sam are in a homosexual relationship and Aarogon is way too horny and needs to get laid as soon as possible. mercatfat
Right, because all male friends that are close to each other are inherently gay.
Natty
"Frodo it's me its your Sam" Normal males don't say that sort of thing I think it's because Sam just well irriates me and my friends we've decided to make fun of him for the hell of it Basically everything Sam says about Frodo makes it sounds like he's desperatly in love with Frodo- Sam worships him, why I have no idea, it's not like Frodo is anything special nor is he good looking. Sam is just an irritating stupid fat hobbit who wants Frodo so desperatly he's too ashamed to admit it

Sam is just an irritating stupid fat hobbit who wants Frodo so desperatly he's too ashamed to admit it half an hour ago i was discussing exactly that with some friends of mine, and those above were our same words, although we were discussing in portuguese. sam is obviously gay, hes always kissing frodo's arse, calling him mr. frodo, and saying "Frodo it's me its your Sam" . bsides those long looks at each other. in movies when too ppl look at each other silently with that wishing face, they r in love. thats exactly how sam looks at frodo
Natty
And he gets sooooooooo jealous when Frodo talks to Smeagol and brings him along with them to find the black gates. It's like Sam wants to own Frodo and is so seriously possesive. Quite scary really. If my friends did that I would tell them where to go

Tyrion
It seems like Hobbits are secure and comfortible with caring for other hobbits, same gender or not... Unlike us,who are insecure and afraid to care for others of the same gender... Kinda sad,really..
Al-back from the BigWhoop
come on tyrion, u know thats not wot this is all about. dont u agree that their relationship is quite... well odd? i mean, how many friends tell u that they r yours? I mean, we tell that to gfs and bfs, not to friends. and starting from that example we sorted out more examples to show how weird their relationship is. in summary, we r just having fun, k? gee, wot is happening to you ppl? Natty
Hobbits are fun to laugh at. Sam's speech at the end made me wanna cry- had such a hard time trying not to laugh I had to shove popcorn in my mouth
Benihana14
Whats even better is the fact that they mentioned Sam and Rosie, and how Sam wants her, and she likes him....oh, and the part where Sam is going to have a kid with Rosie....yeah, that part, where he obviously has to make Hobbit-Love to her....hrmm, gay? Sorry that you all can't look past old writings talking about best friends, and have to turn it into a 12-year-old conversation about being gay. You are probably the same people that would snicker in the books when they refer to cigarettes as "faggots". I personally thought Sam the best character in the books/movies. Everyone else sort of ditched frodo, or were taunted by the ring, and sam is there beside him every moment to help him out, and he hates gollum because gollum is a punk, that just wants to kill them....too bad the movies haven't shown as much as the books did of how friggin strong and crap he is; they showed more of the "emotional sam" which as been turned into the appearance of sexual attraction towards men? Hopefully by the third movie you will see what I'm talking about...or read the books even. If you still want to talk about people being gay...talk about Gandalf...cuz Ian McKellan really is a homosexual. Thats right, the great Magneto likes men...enjoy! Deadmeat_X
Yeah but Gandalf...well, he's one of the last characters you'd think about when saying SEX, right? He's not homosexual, he's completely a-sexual. Frodo and Sam...well, Sam's ass-kissing annoyed me too, in the books and in the movie. He's really taking his respect and loyalty for Frodo too far, disturbinly far... Aragorn...why didn't he get laid in the movie? He had that elf-chick and that Rohan-woman falling for him...it would have made the movie way more intresting...

Good for them they rule I'm a self confessed fag hag...deal with it Anyway we're talking about fictional *does Ben Affleck hand movement thingie in Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back* characters- not the people portraying them. Anyways I care for my female friends I don't stare at them like I seriously wanna make out with them (and when I do I'm most likely under the influence of alcohol- so don't blame me for my actions) and I don't say I'm theirs. Faith
Oh my GOD! This is such a silly thing! Feral
Natty, He didn't say that he'd just found out Ian McKellan was gay He jsut said that if you want to talk about homosexual relationships, you should talk about Gandalf. Oh, and just accept the movie for what it is. Sam is not gay. If he was, Tolkien will have made it obvious in his books.
Natty
No one has a sense of humour anymore- I'm glad at least Al got it was a joke. NiKo
To be honest, I told my friends those Hobbits are gay when we watched the 1st movie back then. beside the obvious facts stated in this topic about the long passionate looks, the romantic lines "it's me, your Sam"...."oh sam..." in the first movie, isnt it true that Sam was caught peeping into Frodos cabin? perhaps waiting to see Frodo getting undressed? (to all you LOTR fans, i AM joking ofcourse..dont be mad)

If you would have clearly established this when you posted...I would have wholeheartedly joined in on the rediculous banter of the homosexual hobbits. And yes, I did know Ian McKellan was gay, thanks Feral Chicken for clearing that up.
QueenAdreena
i still don't understand the fascination with frodo and sam being "gay". it always comes up, even when it's blatantly not true. if you'd read the books you'd see that it's clear by the end that they're not gay. even though there was never any doubt in my mind about it. i didn't even think about the possibility of them being gay until i read suggestions from other people on forums who had seen the film. they just have a very special close relationship, where they do love each other and care for each other a lot. especially sam. his love for frodo is just so overwhelming it makes me want to cry when i'm reading the books. especially at the end of the two towers. hmm i know what you said was a joke, but it still gets me annoyed when people say things like this! anyway, don't want to get started talking about the lord of the rings because i will never shut up again

Crack and wisecrack refer less formally to flippant or sarcastic retorts: made a crack about my driving ability; punished for making wisecracks in class. Gag is principally applicable to a broadly comic remark or to comic by-play in a theatrical routine: one of the most memorable gags in the history of vaudeville. Do people now understand????? My best friend is sitting next to me- she's read LOTR a number of times since she was 9 and she thinks it funny. I'm glad some people with brains get the joke. Feral
I'm with Mercat on this one. And are you insinuated that everyone besides yourself, Faith, and Al have brains? Isn't that rather oxymoronic?
Natty
No I am insinuating that Al, myself and others have a sense of humour. There's a difference between having a brain and having a sense of humour. Although you would need some sort of a brain to figure out it's a joke. If you can't figure out when I'm being serious and when I'm joking by now- after what? 2years you don't know me as well as I thought some people did. Anyways lets talk about Aaragon... he is in desperate need of getting laid...

Unlike some people I admit when I'm wrong and I don't think I'm wrong. I find your comment amusing as that's coming from the person who declared himself winner of something he wasn't even nominated for. I find that more sad than not having a sense of humour.
