I can't find it anywhere....there are many versions out there, some slightly changed, others majorly. Does anyone know where I can find the first version he printed?? I've got a friend whose mother owns the 1st editions... not that it helps you any, but then again, she got them new. I've read them, and there's nothing different that I can tell. I think by 1970, he had done more work, and revised it, in main the appendices to fix up his continued work on the history of Middle Earth....
