Nute Gunray Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/27/rogers.obit/index.html Mister Rogers was the best. He also is the reason we have the VCR. He is dead now and I am sad.
Nute Gunray Posted February 27, 2003 Author Posted February 27, 2003 I used to be all MR ROGERS LOL WON'T YOU ME BY NEIGHBOR LOL until in my senior year of high school, me and two other guys did a presentation about him. That man accomplished so much in his life. He was a true role model. My favorite thing he did was sucessfully argue before the US Congress that the VCR should be made legal because the educational benefits of it outweight the potentional piracy it would cause.
Keyan Farlander Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Yes, he was truly great. I used to watch him every single day. He was so great for kids. He could teach them about love and friendship without turning them pinko or gay in the process, which seems to be beyond the ability of anyone today - even actual teachers, much less TV shows.
Nitro Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 That was the first thing I heard when I actually became sentient this morning... My ears started working, and I heard, "Fred Rogers has died at the age of 74." The rest of my day sucked.
GUNNER Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 My kid and I watch his show and I remember when I was my sons age watching it. R.I.P.
Nute Gunray Posted February 28, 2003 Author Posted February 28, 2003 I think I'm going to go to the Children's Museum in Pittsburgh this weekend. They have the original Neighborhood of Make-Believe puppets there. I think that's the best way that I can pay my respects to someone I truly respected.
Rogue15 Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 man that sucks. =[ some idiots were calling in on the radio today saying that he was a sniper in vietman...like get real people...
edlib Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 He was one of the good ones and will be sorely missed. "Fred Rogers was not only the nicest man I ever met, he was the nicest man ANYONE ever met. What you saw is what you got. Fred Rogers was a very positive moral influence at PBS, constantly reminding us by his example why we do what we do, which is to make life better for our children. Let's not forget that." - Robert Cringely Kids shows these days seem so fluffy and empty-headed. It will be an emptier and colder world now.
ZBomber Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 Its a shame that these things have to happen. You kinda wish you wouldn't hear about it, but you have to. It happens. My prayers go to Fred's famlie and friends.
Acrylic Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 I do wonder now why we all have to die...and why the nicest people have to die first...I just dont understand.
Admiral Odin Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Death is the ultimate motivator in life. If nobody died then why bother doing anything. You could always put it off until tomorrow. Death is a good thing, besides a population control, it makes people do something with their lives and not waste it away.
Nitro Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 I'm perfectly content to do nothing with my life and just waste away...
