RocketPack Jack
I was wondering... If Mon Calamari are water-dwelling creatures, and supposedly suffer drops in stats (become lethargic, etc (sorry dont have link to where i saw this)) when they go to places like Tatooine, does any1 think or know that other races will also be handicapped in sum way or another. Will this mean that fewer players go Mon Calamari if this is true? Is any1 out there going to start as 1? I want to gain ur wisdom, or just be told i'm wrong. Deft Aklin
Yes, according to the WEG rules, MonCal slowly lose stats as long as they are out of water. I do not honestly know if the game will reflect this or not, but as soon as the NDA is lifted I will find out for you.
Sounds Risky
I bet if any of the other species were in water for a prolonged period of time they would lose stats.
setsuko
Well, most species have some good advantages, and so does the Mon Cal, so it's just fair that they have disadvantages too. Mon Cal not liking Tatooine is just fair. Well, perhaps we can have bathtubs in your houses?
RocketPack Jack
http://www.swgalaxies.net/articles/article.php3?article_id=31 Got a link here that gives all the strengths and weaknesss of each race. I've sort of answered my own question, oh well...
UnfrozenCaveman
I don't think necessairly it's when Mon Cal's are out of water, I think it's more of the climate. Viz. a Mon Cal would rather be a in a hot humid climate than a dry, hot, arid climate. So, you'll more likely see more Mon Cal's on naboo than you would Tatooine. But I'm sure you'll see a Mon Cal on Tatooine.
legameboy
i agree, but jarjar survived tatoine! was it because he was tough or he was too dumb to pour a bucket of water on him
UnfrozenCaveman
JarJar survived because GL wanted to torture us. He felt having to wait almost 30yrs for another Star Wars movie wasn't enough.
legameboy
oooo, ok, but still, Mon Calimari could survive, maybe you could buy a certian gizmo or sumtin
UnfrozenCaveman
Maybe you can buy some sort of containment suit that will keep the right environment inside the suit. Well, look at one of the screenshots, there is a Mon Cal soldier in Tatooine, looks like he's not hurting or anything. This is a good topic though. legameboy
very good topic, and your right, mon calimari should be able to get a contaminate suit right, i mean look at the tusken raiders
setsuko
It's not like mon cals die when they are in arid climate. They just.. well... 'operate at a substandard level', so to say. I'd stay at tatooine now and then if I were a mon cal, everyone loves the symbolisms of a fish in a desert!
legameboy
you could still do the gizmo idea so that your powers skills dont lower
Deft Aklin
I don't think they'll do the SIMS thing and add showering, if they did Set would receive a lot of fan mail.
legameboy
what showering in the Sims?
Deft Aklin
What, don't tell me you are still taking baths? Don't you know you can buy a shower and save time?
legameboy
yeah i take showers every day thank you, but you know how hot it can get on tatoine, take a SHOWER and 5 minutes later your dry!
setsuko
What's the problem, use an umbrella! That would take care of the sunshine, and provide you with a nice ascessory. And D_S, that day, I'll put up a ticket booth. Without tickets. And watch you squirm!
legameboy
but tatoine has 2 suns, it would melt the umbrella!
RocketPack Jack
It may mean that mon cal might be tempted to use buffs that little bit more, maybe carry sum food or supplies around with them, to compensate 4 their weakness.
legameboy
haha, im going to make a restaurant on tatoine! "Only 50 credits for once crunchifying dried and salted kelp leaf!
