Got it as a minor skill. Didnt really want to use healing magics, as am being a Ranger-like character, like Aragorn from LotR, so figured it a more fitting skill.

Not sure how to use it though...

Same for a lot of them... Heavy going at the start to learn it all!

*Revives thread*

Just wanted to say that I yesterday earned about 250,000gp by doing less than an hour of Alchemy. Just bought 2000

And what I found out later that day, was how to make super potions. You see, your Intelligence is what decides how good the potion is. So basically, you just buy a lot of ingredients for the Fortify Intelligence potion (ash yam, bloat, netch leather. You can probably get it loads of places, but at least they sell bloat in Ald-Ruhn Mage Guild and Netch Leather in the Balmora Temple). Make three, drink three, make three, drink three, so that you'll always get better fortify intelligence potions. So when you've got your intelligence way up, you can make some really good other potions. And these potions are really valuable too, I bet you can make them at least 10 times more expensive by getting your Intelligence up a good deal.

Well, IMO, the Nords are pretty cool. Tough looks and cool accent. And they're pretty good too, due to their natural resistance against Cold and Shock. But the Wood Elves and Bretons are good too.

BTW, I kind of want to get Neverwinter Nights...do you people recommend it?

Giving it another try. Is an assassin/thief/stealth wahtever type player even good in this game? I've seen so many RPGs make them sucky.

They're pretty good. There are some really good bows in this game, wich makes good assasin. In combat, if you mix this good ranged power with stealth and illusion magic (such as invisibility and chamelon) you can take down loads of tough targets. Stealing is also more important in this game, because the shopkeepers actually have the stuff they sell, so you can steal it from their shops.

In short, an assassin/thief/stealth will be a good character. I reccomend you use a Wood Elf for such a character.

NeverWinter Nights is very good as well. If you can get some friends to buy the game then it's really REALLY worth it for the co-op. It's 30 bucks most everywhere now. You can also make your own levels and items using the built in editor and there's quite a few levels and mods up for download.

Now I remember why I stopped playing it. Melee is HORRIBLE. I've been fighting ONE person for 40 minutes now and he still isn't dying ( NOT JOKING..this is a NORMAL bandit )

and about 70% of them are misses..although it's pretty obvious it should be a hit. Same with arrows...they fly right through the models. Horrible programming.

yessssssss!!!!!! i got the game and holy crappy!!!!!!!! IT IS SO AWESOME IT IS THE BEST GAME THAT I'VE EVER PALYED!!!!!!!!!!!1

At first i screwed around w/a woodelf named Alcarohtar, who got stuck around Gnaar Mok after the woman he was escorting got killed by eels...kept getting killed by....UFOs. ;]

So I say OK now i'm going to start up a new character, this time i'm going to be Kioet Csuhen, the pwn-everybody-dies-like-painfully-insane-class-kick-yo-mommas-ass!! well i figured out how to change their 'hair' 'face' and 'sex' and i made him look perfect and i'm going around town gathering money, and i wanted to buy a new set of armor, so i went into the clothiers...and he didn't have anything good, and i really wanted something good like at least some gauntlets, so i got mad and killed him and took all his clothes and threw them outside, was stopped by a guard and payed 40 gold and gave back like 1 shirt i stole...that was pretty funny. and there was that barbarian retard who wanted me to hunt this witch down and so i did and she told me to tell him to come to the mages place or something and i went back and he's like 'side with me or her' and i'm like '**** it, i'll just kill the stupid bitch' and so i did and gave him back his axe and he's like 'thank you' and his appreciation of me is at like 0 but he gave me 2 points of something...pretty stupid i felt like killing him but i didn't because he's not worth the effort, however when i return more powerful i'm going to 1-hit kill him like he's a bug!!!! damn this game is awesome!

LOL!!!!!!

n00b to rpg? Your character needs to aquire the skillz before he can actually hurt enemies-or even civilians.

No..not a n00b....but bandits are like a basic "mob" to kill. However...I'm getting a TON of skill increases attacking this guy....and I mean a ton.

I just think it's stupid how these new "first person RPGs" have such horrible....what's the word...physics...no....bah whatever. I mean, if you want that "chance to hit" crap...make it where you hit a button and it starts firing away. A miss will show it miss, a hit will show a hit. On this one, you actually HAVE to AIM YOURSELF...the "skill" on accuracy should be based on the player. "weapon skill" should increase damage or distance per shot...whatever.

If YOU have to work personally....you should get the hits if you actually hit them. If it was a "1 button auto-attacks"...I'd understand these chance to hit/miss.

Yeah, at first they're low-resolution, then some ppl made a plugin to fix that. I could send you a link to where I found it... After I got that plugin, its been really enjoyable to look at the characters.
