Tatooine would be cool to see the krayt dragons and jabbas palace, but corellia would be better suited to my mini pa's aims and species! I'm sure it would be pretty hot for the wookiees covered in all that fur + the mon calamari wouldn't appreciate the desert suns scorching them

Is there better places to start out with concerning advancing your professions or is it really just up to what planet you like the best?

Depends on what you plan on doing. Creature Handlers might want to go to a place like Corellia, Naboo, or Talus where there is a rich number of creatures. If you are a "fighta-for-hiya" then Tatooine would be the best choice.
