It sounds more like a stool, as in a backless chair, as opposed to stool, the fecal matter.

 

Reread the article again, and it says "a stool" and "the stool". It doesn't go into a "disgusting" remark from witnesses or school officials, and the witness said, "There was a loud thud.", by the way, he witnessed the accident from across the street. Generally, turds do not make a loud "thud" sound, especially one that could be heard from across the street. Sounds more like a stool, or wooden furniture item, was thrown from the window and hit the women on the head. Also, most turds are not dense enough to cause unconsciousness or concussions.
