Zappa_0
The bots causes more lag then regular players, more bots more lag. You should try to keep it down to around 2 or 3 bots.
Jstar
bots dont have pings so how can they cause lag ?
Sam Fisher
Because bots take up a lot of processing power.
|GG|Carl
Maybe you have a to old computer... I have a new one, and I can create a server with about 10 bots +some "humans". Never lag... maybe your friend has a better computer than you, and if he has, he can create the server instead
Luc Solar
For some reason bots *really* like force fields. A few of those is quite enough to screw up a game.
lllKyNeSlll
Truth is, for everybot you have you will have a lower fps. But that isn't the problem. The problem is that you have to send out more information to your client (aka your friend). You have to send out where the bot is located how its moving, whatever its doing, acting like another player. True, the bots won't have ping but they still use up your upload. Emon
Bots use the server's processing power which is normally used to dool out packets to each client and accept packets and process the information to send it out again.
Ildon
Put into "stupid people" terms that you might understand best, when you're playing normally, you're obviously playing as just one single player. When you have 6 bots, your computer is running the AI of 6 bots, plus you.
