I don't want to know how badly they've edited it
Lynk Former Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 Originally posted by Redwing Oro? This is no time for huh's! XP anywayz, i don't bother watching toonami at all. I go out and by Rurouni Kenshin on DVD... and besides, we all love the Battousai XP
Jackrabbit Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 I would just like to point out to the less informed people that my avatar is not another Kenshin one, but is Gene Starwind from the anime Outlaw Star. I could see how non-anime people could get a little confused. Anyway, Oro, yeah. I watched some Kenshin (none of the Toonami crap, I like my animes in their original language), but never really got into it. I still have the OVAs on my computer though, which my friends have said I will probably like more. I haven't gotten around to watching them yet though.
arguile Posted July 8, 2003 Author Posted July 8, 2003 i was just sayin that about toonami because i never saw those avatars before it came out there. actually, redwing, they didnt edit it all that badly, however, it is much better on dvd just because you can watch them all in a row, which is the way they are meant to be seen...that it is. i think they just took it off toonami though...so dvd is all thats left. my friend bought the entire series for seventy bucks from his cousin, that lucky bastard. well...i guess that was a bit of a spiel...so...uh...anyone else talk like kenshin in game? you know..."you should be more careful...that you should" ...what is oro btw?
Goose_Of_Mercy Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 I watch the toonami version of DBZ (unfrequently since its all repeats), Yu Yu Hakashu and Kenshin. I don't watch the DVDs of them because I am too lazy to go out and buy them. Also Cowboy Bebop rules. Go Adult Swim, gotta love that out there humor(Family Guy, Lupin). ~SK~
Exar_reborn Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 No actually I am a big Kenshin fan. And no not to do with toonami. I have the entire collection with japanese subtitles. I'm really into the whole japanese warring eras. I even take Kendo (japanese fencing) Its awsome. If ya wanna get into a discussion about it just PM me.
Lynk Former Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Originally posted by arguile ...what is oro btw? Oro is like the japanese equivelant of "huh"
Redwing Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 I just wanna know if it's an actual word, or just something he says. ^_~
Exar_reborn Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Well try going to a translator like babelfish.com and see if it does translate. It could just be an ontimonopia (sp?) word.
Lynk Former Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Oro? Many fans of the original know this is one of Kenshin's signiture outbursts. It seems to be a form of "Ara?" which translates into "Oh?" or "Huh?" ...and there ya go, another Japanese lesson by Lynk Former
Exar_reborn Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Ugh I need to start learning Japanese, I'm planning on moving over there after college with a degree in marketing and advertising. Since their 2 years ahead of everyone in technology it'll be good business.
