BawBag™
Well, read on if you're interested...... Given how tight-lipped everyone usually is on the set of a Star Wars movie, it's a refreshing change this morning to read the interview with Peter Mayhew, aka the Wookie with a heart of gold. Speaking to LOK magazine, via TheForce.Net, Mayhew - who clearly hasn't read all the way through his confidentiality contract with Lucasfilm - merrily reveals a whole heap of goodies on what we can expect from the great bearded one in Episode III.Now this story will get a little dull if you're not willing to highlight the text below - but we've read it and think it's more a case of scene and plot setting than giving away any true spoilers. But that's our opinion. [Asked what role he'll be playing in Episode III's story development, Mayhew says: 'I was told by George Lucas that I would be playing a large part in the story including the delivering of two twin babies and playing a role in a major battle scene that involves many war machines. Sadly, I have not read those sequences of the script yet.' Asked what he thinks of the bits of the script he has seen, Mayhew says; 'Again, I haven’t really seen the complete script. Lucas only gives us copies for that days shooting. But from what I’ve seen, it looks good. Of course, I really don’t have any lines (he laughs). Lucas has really changed his writing style from back when he wrote the original trilogy. He is much bolder and willing to push the envelope in both settings and dialogue. In fact, the opening action scene involving many Wookiees takes place on one of the many new planets seen in this movie Thoughts?
Antilles_CL
Cool, Wookiees rock! And Matthew is a grea actor even though his speaking part is very minor
leXX
Looks like we are going to get to see Kashyyyk. I can't wait! =)
The Cheat
this sounds like it will be awesome, hopfully the wookiees will be in costumes and not cgi to "save money" because i think the quality would be a lot better if they were all in costumes
OmegaNothing
Hmm that looks damn familiar! I can't wait to see kashyyk, I hope we don't see alot of wookiees die... What happens to Kashyyk anyway? You don't hear of it in the OT, although that doesn't mean much I suppose.

pbguy1211
could the showing of the wookiees lead to a possilbe Ep. VII and the freeing of them??? I'm of the belief that ep. III will not be the end of the story somehow
Omikron
It'd be good if there was another movie or 3, and my bro said somewhere, that if ANYONE else were to direct a Star Wars movie, it would be Peter Jackson. Maybe Peter Jackson will make a 7th. And the big battle with wookies sounds cool, and hopefully they are in costumes, not CG.
benTantilles
What happens to Kashyyk anyway? few planets get mentioned in the OT...so the fact that Kashyyyk doesn't get talked about often isn't really surprising. it gets mentioned in the much-acclaimed thrawn trilogy, though, as a place where leia seeks refuge from noghri assassins.... noghri vs wookies...that was a great book
Jedi_Monk
So far, all of the OT aliens (with the exception of Hutts) have been done the conventional way. I doubt that trend will change for Wookiees, except probably for wide-shots, and shots where there're freakin hundreds of them
HertogJan
Ah well, the CGI looked pretty good in EPII anyway, Yoda didn't seem THAT fake to me. But I doubt that they are able to make convincing CG wookies But didn't they state a while ago that the same actor would be IN the suit?? That's be great
