curacao
ha, yeah right, not for *cheap* anyway. They're pretty rare. Check out ebay, yeah, but pray for a good dose of luck, too.
remixor
If you don't mind getting Discworld Noir as a re-release, you can get it pretty cheap from Rewind Software (I believe). I have a copy but I can't check what the company is because I've loaned it to a friend. Good luck.
GinnyW
Discworld Noir is rare? That strikes me odd cause if it is rare the last place I'd expect to find it is in a shop in Israel, and yet only a few weeks ago I was in a shop called "bug" (it's part of a very well known network of computer games and computer supplies shops), and I saw it there in a basket for 50 shekels (about 10 bucks). I couldn't buy it at the time but I seriously doubt anyone bought it since then, so next time I'm there, I'm getting it! As for other places to get on the net, there a site I found a while ago, but I gotta disect my favorites to find it.. Edit: Here it is, a site called CDAcces, I dunno where it ships but it seems to ship to Israel so it probably ships everywhere lol. http://www.cdaccess.com./html/pc/discnoir.htm The link to Discworld Noir on the site. It costs 20 bucks here, but that's pretty cheap I guess. Meanwhile I plan to get it the moment I'm in that shop.
Halgwet
Amazon has the exact same version for five punds, which is even cheaper: Amazon
curacao
I thought you meant discworld 1 and 2, misunderstood. But still, the original version of dw noir *is* very rare, it's re-releases that aren't.
GinnyW
Oh, hmm.. What's the differnce between the original and re-realeases? Apart from the collectible value of course.

None. Sometimes the re-release is patched so you can play them on modern machines or to fix bugs. I bought DW Noir when it just came out, still have the box but haven't finished the game. Couldn't get it to run with Windows 2000 so I'll probably not play it for a while either. --Erwin
DomStLeger
Yeah, Discworld Noir was apparently very buggy (Soon after it was released its developer, Perfect Entertainment, went bankrupt due to some legal mess with the publishers of the first two games so no patch was made). However, I didn't have a single problem with the game when I played it first time in windows 98. I don't know whether it works ok in winXP with windows 98 compatibility. Anyway, if you haven't got it I implore you; buy it now! It's a brilliant game with some wonderful twists and lots of fantastic Pratchett humour. £4.99 from Amazon is a pitence, and even if you can't get it to work at least you have a copy for the future when they might make a good windows emulator! It's in my humble opinion one of the best adventure games ever made, though sadly most people haven't had a chance to play it and those who have, have had problems with bugs. Quoth
The first time I played through it on Windows 98 I didn't encounter any bugs. I've got it to work on Windows XP; just download a no-cd crack for the game and use that, it works fine for me. Must have something to do with the copy protection.
