Aircombat

I just wanna tell you all about a hobby of mine, aircombat.

This is how it works:

You create a model airplane, which has to look like a real airplane from 1936-1946(scale: 1:12).

You put a 20 meters long "tail" on the airplane(the tail is made of paper).

Then everybody(about 7 people) start their machines, and fly vs. eachother. You fly 5 heats, and the 7 ones with the most points after them, will get to the "final battle". Every heat takes exactly 7 minutes, after that, you must take your airplane down.

To get points you have to cut the other guys tails, but not let them cut yours.(a tail gets cut off as soon as it's touched by someones wings)

You get bonus points if you crash into another airplane without hurting your own. If both airplanes gets destroyed in a crash, both of the guys get a half bonus point. But it's no good to crash into eachother, cause then your airplane might get destroyed, and that's not very funny...(I know, cause I have tried...)

The airplanes that are usually used are these ones:

P-51 Mustang (American)

F6F Hellcat (American)

Spitfire Mk XIV (English)

Focke Wulf TA-152H(German)

Zero (Japanese)

Kawasaki Ki 100 (Japanese)

Hawker Hurricane (American[?])

P-39 Aircobra (American[?])

Bloch mb152(French)

Here are some pictures of my airplane:

Before - This picture is taken before this weekends competitions(Yes, the competition was today and yesterday).

It's a P-51 Mustang D. The Americans best aircraft from 1936-1946(I think it "came out" 1945). It's very fast, and very easy to fly. But it sail flies like a stone. So I crashed it twice this weekend...

After - this picture is taken after today's crash, which was much worse than the crash yesterday. Yesterday I lost control and crashed into a field. we searched for 2 hours to find the airplane. when we found it we found out that the fuselage was broken, but that was pretty easy to mend:D.

Then, the next time I flew, I crashed into another airplane, and everything broke... So I could do nothing but see the parts of the airplane fly down to the earth in about 300 Kilometers per hour. As you can see on the picture, it's quite broken...

So, aircombat is very fun! But it's a little bit expensive sometimes...

No, they aren't... The pictures are on a swedish server, and everybody gets problems when they are about to view pictures on it... but it always works if you click on the link several times... If you have time...

lol, no, actually not that expensive. The airplanes are made of quite cheap materials, but it's much work!

EDIT: here is a short Swedish movie about it!

(I know, you won't understand anything of what they say etc., but thats not the funny part of it!)

I know the guy I the beginning of it, he's called "Mupp-Julle"(Julle the muppet)

And by the way, the crash is faked, but I can actually look like that.
